Ok,I'll be honest I'm a little freaked. This is the first time I faced anything like this(I was too little during Desert Storm).I'm just glad I have no family or close friends deployed right now(and my bf is in school)

I'm not scared even though I do believe that if we attack the terrorists will retaliate in some way, shape, or form.

On the other hand, I am concerned for my cousin Jason, but I don't know if he has or will be deployed soon. I pray not. Jason had a beautiful wife and two children, and I don't want them to grow up fatherless.

Everyone in the military knows that their job is 24/7, you go where you are told to go, do what you are told to do and stay for as long as you are told.
It's not an easy life and it's not for everyone.

DH and I are a retired USAF couple who served during wartime and in war zones. We vowed our children would NEVER be in the military, yet our eldest son joined against our wishes.

We are patriots, but we do not support war and yes, we are very much afraid that we will start the "beginning of the end".

This is a scary time for everyone. I don't remember feeling as scared about the Gulf War. My friend's brother died in the Gulf War. Right now, my nephew and several of my ds's friends are in Kuwait. I pray everyday for their safe return. The uncertainty is what is most scary.

While I don't want to go to war, I am just a lowly person living in the U.S. and can't stop the president. I could protest, but thinking of all those kids over there already, bothers me.

I was very young when Vietnam was going on, so I had no idea what it was about.
My oldest brother had friends who died there.

This is the closest I have ever felt to war. I understand why our president thinks we should do this, but I also feel this is the beginning of the end.

I have chosen to support our military by adopting someone over there and sending letters and care packages.
I think too many people don't realize how their comments or protests affect our troops.

It is a very scary time, so was Sept 11. We just need to pull together and be there for each other.

God bless us all.

I think that you are 100% correct in your quote regarding the support of the troops.

No one knows more about how the negataive comments of the nation hurt the individual military member as those of us who served during Vietnam. Very few of us wanted to be where we were and do what we did - but we served faithfully and proudly.

Regardless of why the person elected to join the military, it is now their job, actually THEIR LIFE, and we should always remember that policies are not made by the men and women who serve but by their Commanders.

Yes, absolutely, honor, respect and support our military members -

thank you so much for reminding us of this!

God bless you!

Iraq scares me, North Korea terrifies me. I think we are facing dangerous times in both regions of the world. I guess you could say I 'support' the war in that I do think we should be disarming Saddam but I'm really dreading it at the same time. And I wonder what's around the corner with North Korea?
With Titus in Kuwait headed for Iraq I am worried about him on a personal level. During dessert storm my dad and two of my brothers were deployed to Saudi and I forgot about how you just live with an elevated level of tension everyday. I didn't feel calmer about them until the fighting was over and they were just more or less waiting to come home. With Titus I feel that same tension now. Hopefully it will all be over soon and I can just wait for him to come home too.
God bless America and our military.
