We love our doxie Marvin. We got him when our oldest was 2. He is now 11. My daugher dressed him up, carted him around in her baby carriage, whatever she wanted, he was fine with as a puppy. Now that he's old, not so much. He's alittle more set in his ways, and that is fine. I didn't expect him to act like a baby his whole life. I guess what I'm trying to say, if you get a doxie pup when you have little ones, I think it'll get on with kids. If your doxie isn't around kids much at all, then throwing a kid in the mix is questionable. He has bitten the girls each once, but never without being provoked.
He is SO good. He stays in the back yard even when the fence gate is open. He's a lap dog and his biggest priority is finding the warmest, best place to sleep.
