Who's in for GREECE and TURKEY, June 15 2003????

I have been struggling to come up with ideas for our first FE exchange. Obviously, looking for something small and lightweight so I don't need to bring a whole suitcase just for gifts... Without telling me what you are doing (don't want to spoil the fun), looking for ideas on what others have done in previous FEs with this many people and luggage restrictions. Thanks in advance!

We have given pens or pencils from the departure port plus postcards from the departure port plus a local area candy from the departure port. We were in the city a couple of days ahead and so many times people overlook the departure port as a port. So we thought we old give something from there. I just packed ziplock baggies and packaged them at the hotel before boarding the ship and had made business cards to put with them with the recipients dis name and cabin number so we would know where to deliver. The candy was all individually wrapped but made in the area.

Another time we made coasters but they took a awhile to make... A Martha Stewart craft. But they were lightweight and small... We did two per family.

I found this thread to be really helpful. Just seeing other people's ideas is great. I figured mine out after poking around here. :goodvibes

Great links!

By the way, congrats on Aiden's first communion!

I teach 2nd grade CCD classes, and my students will be going through the ceremony during the 1st two weekends in May.

Very proud!:cheer2:

And for those that don't know. Vatican tickets are available for the day we're in Rome. They opened at 6pm EDT

Thank you! We are very excited for him. He will be doing his on May 11th. That's great that you teach the classes. I'm sure it will be very exciting to see your students have theirs.

You're quite welcome, but I have to say that all I know about Google docs and spreadsheets comes from DISer Burma.

Awe shucks! ....

As for the FE I have been struggling also think I have it nailed down but time is upping away fast. I thought there were 55 but I counted 48?

I counted 48 DISers but some DISers have more than one cabin listed, so maybe that's where the difference was? I counted 110 adults and 51 children.

Our FE's are ready to be labeled so we'll get those finished this weekend coming up. We got ours done for the next cruise over the weekend, but there are about half as many participants for that one :)

The next thing I need to do is make a calendar page for DH and the boys to put where we'll be and what we have scheduled on each day so they will know - they are starting to ask and pay attention as it's getting closer. We leave 7 weeks from tomorrow, and the boys have 6 weeks until school is out 25 more classroom days plus 3 exam days). Then they will have one week at home where I'll be scrambling around packing and whoosh, we leave!

Hi, everyone!

nzdisneymom is an amazing person who helped me with putting this sign up sheet together:

If I have missed your name, how many children are attending, and their ages, please add them.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ao20EHYjoVtbdEJqRUY3dnpYcEZoLTZlUENaNzhZMmc#gid=0

If you still need details, please send me a PM.

Thanks!

Hi, Everyone!

We still have 7 more spots left open for the children ages 4 to 13 to participate.

We need at least 15 children to have the Chocolate Factory to carry out the class for our group.

If we do not have at least 15 children for this event by May 18th, I will have to cancel the event.

So, please pass the word along...

For more details, please send me PM.

Thanks!

Sounds like there's a Bingo Contention amongst us - we'll have to rope off a section for the DIS Bingo'ers!

How much do the cards typically cost, and do they vary? Do they mostly do cash prizes as on-board-credit or do they have "stuff" prizes, too, like spa treatments, etc.?

We did the Alaska cruise this past summer. The BINGO prices vary. We were getting two electronic BINGO cards for $60. Also, if you play often, they give you a discount. We played everyday, it is a lot of fun. They also would do pre-sales after some BINGO sessions and give a discount too.

I posted this over on Facebook and Puredata added his family. It looks like 10 kids are signed up now. Did everyone who expressed an interest get a chance to put their info on the spreadsheet?

Thanks for posting it on FB! And thanks to Puredata for adding his family :)

Will you please PM the choc. factory details to me? We do not fly in until Fri. night, but my sister's family will arrive BCN on Thurs, and her 3 kids sound interested. (My sister is not on DIS or FB but will be on our cruise.) Thanks!

Hi! I just sent you the details. Thanks for passing the word along. By the way, your sister's family can wait in the lobby of the museum/factory and have a bite to eat as well as take a tour of the museum while the children are in class.

Last time, our group of 20 Disney children cruisers had 3 teachers. They did not want to leave and left smiling.

There's also a Picasso Museum around the corner if you want to visit it. But, my DH and I stayed and tasted everything in the little cafe.

No pixie dust, but at least we are not in the lifeboats anymore. Finally received our room assignment.

Hi! Just a friendly reminder... Please PM me with your GTY stateroom numbers to me when you receive them so that I can add the information to the FE spreadsheet.

So far, I still need stateroom numbers for: yensidfan, WVUFlu, long_time_cruiser, and puredata.

Thanks!

Hi! I am having trouble accessing the FE list from the FB page, I am wondering if it is just an issue with my computer or if others are able to view it? I have no trouble reading the excursion lists, etc and other ones posted on the site. I finally figured out what to give for FE gifts (thanks to everyone for the ideas and suggestions!) and want to make sure I purchase the correct amount. Thanks, jen

hum...not sure as I am seeing it without any trouble. I am planning to send out an update this afternoon if you would like to wait until that is ready to try again. I'll see if there is something amiss when I do the update.
