Who's in for GREECE and TURKEY, June 15 2003????

I found this great article, "How to Shop for summer flights to Europe" on USA Today Travel section:

http://travel.usatoday.com/experts/...-shop-for-summer-flights-to-Europe/53388550/1

Still have this darn flu! I thought that I was better, but it's still here.

Thanks for the link to the article - we have our calendar marked for when flights will even be available to start looking at - we know which flights we want and what days we want to travel (both days are on Wednesday which the article says Monday through Wednesday is better than Thursday through Sunday). We've tracked the price of the flights for comparable dates this summer so we know what our "price point" is so when they do become available to book for next summer, we may not wait to get the very best price, but will book as soon as it is a "good deal" to us.

Hope you're feeling better.

Rick Steves has some of his audio tours for free at iTunes - just search Rick Steves and you'll find them. Some of his maps and such are also available for iBooks if you have that app and are interested.

"If you have an MP3 player (such as an iPod) or a smartphone, download the tours before your trip at www.ricksteves.com/audioeurope, on iTunes, or via my Rick Steves' Audio Europe smartphone app." - Rick Steves' Mediterranean Cruise Ports

Thanks Cindy for the well wishes. I am feeling a little better today.

I know the feeling about those flights. The other day, American Airlines was having a one day sale of roundtrip to BCN for $738. One had to book it on March 8th with travel date prior to May 2012.

Bummer that I couldn't book it for next year.

Just stopping by to say "HI" since I haven't posted since we booked back in January.

So many posts to catch up! :cool1:

Going to WDW this June and currently working on those plans.

Aloha,
Jen

I'm enjoying the Rick Steves med cruise ports book too. I was also able to get the package of all his dvds through a rewards program so watching those while reading has really given me a nice picture of the places we'll visit.

I'm curious to know which ports people plan to use dcl excursions for and where you'll be venturing on your own. Also some recommended tour guides. Thanks.

At this point in time I plan to do all the ports on our own. If I get lazy in planning everything maybe that will change. This will be our 3rd Med cruise with Disney. We have done most of the ports on our own in the past. For the Baltic cruise we did all the ports on our own as well except for the Princess Ball at St Catherine's Palace, which I thought was a unique offering.

We just switched our reservation from the July sailing. This will be our first Disney Cruise and the first cruise for me and our kids. It will also be the first time for our kids to be out of the US. Been reading everything I can on the first time cruiser boards - good thing is I still have time to soak it all in. Looking forward to a great time. I also entered our information on the google spreadsheet.

Hi, and welcome to the group. I've added you to the "who's sailing" post (you can find the link in my sig line) and here's the info for adding yourself to the roll call / sign up for FE, etc. Go to the Rollcall Form one and it will guide you through adding yourself. The spreadsheet shows everyone who's already posted their info.

We had considered doing the July sailing but with our younger son being in marching band and having an early back-to-school, we didn't want to push it.

Welcome! Feel free to ask any questions, there is a lot of experience on these boards.

Welcome to all the new comers!

Us too, it will be great to see you!

Lynn,

I love your mickey in your signature. Did you make that? If so, would you be willing to share it. I want to put it in my signature and on my computer at work.

Thanks

Oh, how was the Princess Ball? I saw it on the Baltic excursions and thought it would be so much fun with the DD's.

Okay... this is going to be a crazy question but back in Jan/Feb I remember reading a trip report about someone who did the 7 night Med Cruise in 2011 (I think, that was the year). Anyways, the trip report was about 2 couples that did most of the ports on their own (if not all). One of the girls was a photographer. I'm looking for this report because they did a train ride to town near Barcelona during the pre-cruise stay and I for the life of me can't remember the town name other than they saw these huge mountains?? UGH... why didn't I book mark this is beyond me. It was a great trip report. Familiar to anyone??

I "borrowed" everything in my signature, so you are welcome to "borrow" them from me!

Happy St. Patrick's Day all!

Are you thinking of Monserrat, Spain?

FYI - if you have American Express Membership Rewards Points

I was just on the Amex Membership Rewards site and they are having a special until May with British Airways. If you transfer points from Amex to BA you get 1.5 points on BA for each Amex point.

We flew BA to BCN last summer and it was great. I think I'll be transferring my points before May. :cool1:

Oh, how was the Princess Ball? I saw it on the Baltic excursions and thought it would be so much fun with the DD's.

It was a very unique experience. I wish Disney offered more of these excursions. They even set up a temporary Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the gift shop the day of the ball. The DD's were 6 and 9 for that cruise, perfect ages. It was a small crowd, so the kids had plenty of interaction with the princesses and group of dancers Disney brought in to dance with the kids.

Here is a link to a few of the photos we took, the Disney photos were much better :worship: of course (but I didn't post those online)
