Who's in for GREECE and TURKEY, June 15 2003????

I was wondering if the menus on the cruise was different since we are in the Mediterranean? Do they have the menu posted on line?

Well, because it is a longer cruise, they will have some menus that are not served on the 7-night or shorter cruises. But you can expect the 7 that are traditionally offered. It seems like there was at least one night that was location-inspired when we did the Baltic in 2010. Maybe someone who has more recently done a med cruise would know... You could ask on the main DCL board.

I have been looking at the HOHO bus and see 2 options, Barcelona Bus Turistic and Barcelona Red Bus. Anyone with experience, besides the routes, what is different? Which would you do? In your opinion, would a 1 day pass be enough, or should a 2 day pass be explored. If the 2 day option is used, do the 2 days have to be consecutive? There will be 4 individuals and we will have approximately a 45 minute train ride just to get to Barcelona.

We did Bus Turistic in 2007 based on a friend's recommendation and found it to suit our needs. We are using them again this summer... We went ahead and got the two days since buying online had a discount and we are in the city for that long. We will use it the day we arrive and the next.

If you plan to be in the city two consecutive days, then consider the two day pass... That way you can see the whole tour but also explore off the bus. The Bus Turistic has an itinerary planning feature on the website so you can build a list of places you want o see. I made a list for me, and Gary still needs to make his list. Then where they overlap, we will see those places for sure.

We are doing the two day bus turistic too (bought tixs online too for the 10% discount). Our plan is to do the red route one day and blue route the other, hopping off when we want to see something. It looks like it will take us to everything we want to see and then some. Hopefully then by day three, we will have recovered from jetlag and have some time to go back and see anything we missed or relax on the beach.

I did not receive any corrections or updates this week so I did not make any changes to the spreadsheet. I did not hear from long_time_cruiser regarding their GTY stateroom number. It is the only outstanding stateroom number. I sent multiple PMs but have not received any messages. Does anyone in the FB group know if they are in the FB group? If they are, please ask for their stateroom number so that I can update the listing. Thanks!

Anyway... in case you missed the document last week...here it is!

If I do hear from them before the cruise, I will update the listing.

Scubadiver: We used the same tour bus, Bus Turistic in 2010. They were good and clean. The employees were professional and helpful. They also gave us the discount tickets to the major attractions. We used the tickets to the Aquarium, absolutely beautiful architecture on the outside and there are a bunch of cafes. We ate lunch there and also had some dessert. Discount tickets used as well.

We loved the tour, because we only had two days to see everything. We plan on doing this again to get to the Gaudi and other parts of Barcelona.

There different lines. It is fairly simple. It get really crowded at Las Ramblas. If you are prone to getting sunburnt, make sure that you have a lot of sunscreen or go down below.

In August 2010, a thunderstorm rolled through Barcelona while we were touring the town. Everyone crammed into the lower deck. We were lucky that we had seats inside. The inside of the bus had AC. This is a nice way to travel.

To get discount tickets for the Bus Turistic, visit the official Barcelona Tourism website (I wish that I had this in 2010). We just purchased the tickets prior to getting on the bus. They take credit cards and Euros/cash.

They will also give you prepackaged/sterilized :) earbuds.

I posted over on FB group.

Thanks everyone on the feedback for the bus tour companies. We will have 5 days before the cruise to explore the region. I thought this may good for 2 of those 5 days.

Hey, everybody! Just want to thank everybody for the orders so far for the shirts... the group pic is gonna rock!

I was researching on travel warnings for our Europe trip on the U.S. Dept. of State Bureau of Consular Affairs. On the website, it highly recommended to sign up for Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) when traveling to Greece and Turkey.

Here's the website that I found:

http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/registration/registration_4789.html

So, it requests for the dob and passport #.

Has anyone done this before? If so, do you recommend it? I just don't want my identity stolen.

Does anyone know if there is a HOHO like Barcelona Bus Turistic in Paris? We are trying to get everything lined up for our trip. We had plenty of time and have been planning our trip. Now the time to leave is coming up fast. We know what we want to do in Paris, just trying to see if there is a HOHO that goes by the sites we want to see.

I contacted Paris Walks, but they said they were booked. Are there any other walking tours someone can recommend?

Hi, Michael:

Here's the office Paris Tourism website for tour buses like the HOHO bus for Paris.
