Who's going to AKL in Dec?

You are all so lucky! You are going to love AKL at Christmas time. We were there last Dec. and it was so beautiful. I just wanted to let you know that while we were there my DS made some really cool ornaments out of broken ostrich eggshells. They were glued on to cardboard shapes of animals (his were giraffes) and then the CM's added beads and a cord to hang it when he was done. He made one for home and one for Grandma. This was the only activity we had to pay for. It was actually a contribution to the Disney Wildlife Fund, $2, and you got the ornament and a neat DWF button. I think it was well worth the two bucks! He also decorated cookies at Boma and we listen to the storytelling at the firepit. Enjoy your stays and I'll be wishing I was there with you as I hang my ornament on the tree at home.

Me Me Me!! I can't wait! As you can tell in my signature, I am counting down the days and trying to keep occupied until my vacation!!! Yea!!!! I can't wait for my dad to see WDW. I think he will have as good of a time as we had the first time we went (which, concidentally was the last time I went Isn't that sad!). Anyway, we're at the AKL, too!

We'll be at AKL, 2 Savannah rooms, Dec 3-7 before moving to the Dolphin. It'll be our second time there & the first time for my Stepson & his family. DH & I will have 2 Blissful Nights alone before our sons & grandsons join us. I am soooo looking forward to the 2 of us sitting out on our balcony, enjoying our coffee while we watch the animals roam - esp. our favorite Red River Hogs (special request for Sunset Savannah so we can see them)

For the poster asking about AKL for a short trip - It isn't the most convienent resort. We like it for downtime as part of a longer trip. DH & I are looking forward to it for it's quiet & remote location. BUT, for a trip where you want to have easy access to the Parks, I would choose something else. I agree with the poster above who suggested looking into Swan/Dolphin. They are our favorite resorts.
