POFQ food court makes them fresh to order. When you get them they're warm.

You might know them as zeppoles--that what they call them in Italy. If you've ever gone to the San Gennaro festival in Little Italy, you can get them there. I grew up eating them--my German mom made them for us all the time. It's just a yeast dough that you fry--in other words, a doughnut.

Have you ever had one at POFQ? I'm not a fan of donuts, and I love beignets. They are much lighter than a donut.

A very greasy donut. I used always get them at the fairs all over town.
The bag would be full of grease by the time I ate the last one.

No more 6 for $1.00 :sad2:

Yes, they are better than doughnuts! I wasn't sure if people knew what they were, so I described them the best way I knew. I make zeppoles once in a while, I love them. I just eat them plain, but my nephews eat them with powdered sugar, my dad likes to cut them & add some jelly. Each to their own, I guess.

not the way I make them! They aren't greasy if you only cook a few at a time, don't let the oil get to hot....my goodness, I'm making myself hungry! :lmao:
