MommyBoo, ~ It sounds like I'm the only Diser on this thread that's going, (ie Party for the Senses) and I see lots of people are starting new threads on Who's going to MNSSHP on their same dates!! So, when it gets closer to Sept, I'll start a thread (so it wont get buried!!) (lol, ok it also could be no one wants to speak up just yet they they are going on the 8th!!) (Really I'm a nice person!! I'm a teacher, and a Scout volunteer!!)

eeyore45 - I would meet you there if we were going at the same time and if I had somewhere to put dd1. It sounds like a lot of fun! Have you found out about the French Quater yet?

Well, I couldn't take it anymore! I've always wanted to do both MNSSHP and MVMCP in the same year (usually I alternate) and now I AM!!!

We're doing a quick long weekend trip for girls only September 30 thru October 3!!

We will do MNSSHP October 2nd with CP at 3:40p.

We'll be celebrating my 5 year old's 6th birthday while we're down there!

I'm so excited! We're going to try out the Caribbean Beach Resort for the first time (being DVC members we don't get to try out too many moderates) thanks to the free dining package!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

That's great! I could tell you really wanted to go!

OK did I miss something? When did they add Oct 2 to the MNSSHP list? I would have done that night but they did not offer it in the beginning! Now I guess I am stuck with Sept 30!! :sad1:

Try calling them and see if you can exchange the tickets. They might do it. :wizard:

;) Was it that obvious?

It's SO hard to choose between the 2 parties (Halloween/Christmas), it was killing me. Now I feel much better!

Only down side is this MNSSHP trip is girls only, to make it a cheap trip, so no DH. :( but I'm sure I'll survive somehow.

Awww, bring him back a treat and maybe you and the girls can plan a special surpise for him on your December trip?

We debated going to MVMCP instead this year but October worked out better for DH's work. Also, if one of us has to leave the party early with DD1 (the unknown quantity of the trip), we've already been, so it's not so bad. I'd like to think that she would fall asleep in her stroller but I've only seen her do that once, so I'm not counting on it. :)

We'll be there Oct 22 -Oct 29 and staying offsite . My uncle has RCI so I have to choose between 27 different resorts. Decisions, decisions... decisions

Last year I bought my DD(21 months at the time) a Peg Perego Pliko P3. It has a running board on the back that the older kids (almost 4, and 5 1/2) could ride on. My DD just wouldn't sleep in the Graco Duo Glider and at the time HATED the MacLaren umbrella stroller. She LOVED the Pliko-she could sit straight up in it and it has a snack tray and the harness releases from the back of the seat so she can move around but she's still quite secure. She sleeps so well in that stroller. She even slept through the fireworks at MNSSHP. A few months ago we got out the MacLaren again and she now loves that-I think she likes the yellow trim on the navy blue fabric. She hasn't been in her Pliko in a while but I'm hoping she'll use it at WDW because she does nap better in it. I plan on taking both to WDW.

DH and I are going Oct. 2-8. Staying at ASMo.
First time back since the year that the MK opened!

It is exciting! I am reading these boards EVERY day!
I simply can not wait.
I am sure that after this trip it will become a yearly thing.
We are allready discussing next year and we have not even gone on this years trip yet. LOL
:jumping1:

Good Morning Oct Dis'ers!!

MommyBoo - re sleeping in the stroller - ha, I have a DD, now 8 that refused to sleep during the day or in cars!! ( :confused3 was she thinking she'd miss something? :confused3 I mean really the baby was 4 weeks old for Thanksgiving we drove at night 1 1/2 hours to Grandma's house... did she sleep? NO - ds's kept saying "feed her mom" we pulled over at a McDonalds, she didnt want to eat, she just screamed the whole way to Grandma's house!! So whenever anyone talks about the unknown and sleeping - I can relate!! :worship:

The Shuttle has lifted off!! What an AWESOME site!!

Welcome Krissy, how exciting!! Its our 2nd trip, but our first with my parents... some high anxiety levels here!!

Well I bought the TLC Trading Spaces Shirts, they are a nice soft cotton, but I'm not completely sold on them yet!! My dad wants to go as a Biker dude (and yep, he could pull it off and scare kids too!! - his Tattoos have grown!!) Dh wants to go as a "Deadhead" (yes, he could pull that off too, as he is a fan of the band - but then what about us girls? And could you just see THAT picture??!

Can you adjust the handles to make them higher? We have a Maclaren and that's what dh likes about it. I'm short, so it doesn't matter. :teeth:

Oh yeah, this girl is something else. From the time I was five months pregnant with her, I could not be in a vehicle for more than 10-15 minutes. Any longer than that and she would kick so much for the rest of the ride that I would be so nauseous by the end of the ride. :crazy2:

I was thinking the same thing; she doesn't want to miss anything! I cannot tell you the number of times that she has made it through long car rides home after a full day only to fall asleep on DH's shoulder as he carries her up the stairs to bed seconds after entering the house. :cloud9:

Re - the costumes - the girls could be flower children. I did that when dh dressed up as a deadhead one time. Flowers in the hair, white blousy shirt or tyedye and bleached jeans (or shorts). You can even draw peace signs on the clothes with that new bleach pen they have.

We were all going to go as muppets but dd8 is set on being Kim Possible. So, we are still undecided. :confused3

Yes.

Last year we took just the Pliko and rented doubles in the parks for my DD(5 1/2) and DS (nearly 4) at the time. The "baby" (21 months then) LOVED the park rentals but when she needed a nap we put her in the Pliko. Only 1 night did we use the Pliko for the older 2 and carry the "baby" back to the resort.

This year since the kids are another older I'm hoping they won't need the strollers all the time so I won't have to spend the money on a rental. My oldest is actually the biggest complainer and ironically the most athletic. I'm taking her for 2 nights before the others arrive so I'm thinking I'll take the MacLaren with me and have DH bring Pliko when he arrives with the other 2 kids (and both can ride it at airport). Surprisingly I find it easier to push the Pliko with the oldest on the running board rather than my DS. I think the last time I tried it she was about 45 lbs and DS 37. She stands still better. I don't know what the manufacturers guidelines are about weight on the running board.

Its not a cheap stroller. I paid $169 last year from Albee Baby. Now they have one for $229 Peg Perego I have read of some on the Dis who use Ebay. There are companies that sell brand new strollers on Ebay. It was worth every penny we paid for it. I also like that it stands when folded-something our Mac doesn't do.

Good Luck! The stroller issue has always been a sorce of worry for me (still is....).

Mommy Boo, can you change the Ergens to the Swan for Sept 30-Oct 2. We got an amazing rate (DH is a state govt employee) so we have moved over there. Thank a bunch! You are wonderful!
