Who's going in late July and staying at the Swan or Dolphin? Are you planning on wearing a lime green ribbon? Anyone from the Boston area?

Sorry to say we're leaving in 10 days :teeth: My sister & her family and my parents will be there the end of July/beginning of August. My parents are from Southie & JP. They now live north of Boston (as do we, but we are also NOTB!!). Have a great time. And to answer another question...they are splitting their stay at CBR and the Poly - and no, they won't be wearing a ribbon :(

Nope, not until 8/15. Hopefully there will be Bostonians there then tho!

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I GUESS WE'LL BE THERE BEFORE YOU-- AROUND THE 10TH- AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING CHANGING RESSIES ON BOTH ENDS OF TRIP AND ADDING DAYS-THIS WEATHER IS MAKING ME CRAZY! OFFHAND, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE COST IS TO CHANGE FLIGHTS WITH SWA OUT OF MANCHESTER--I ALWAYS FLY SWA BUT HAVE NEVER MADE ANY CHANGES-I AM VERY TEMPTED NOW-MY FLIGHTS ARE PROMOTIONAL AND YOU CAN MAKE CHANGE BUT NO REFUNDS WHICH IS FINE-- HOW MUCH TO MAKE CHANGES?

NHMOMX2--A WHILE BACK ON ANOTHER THREAD THERE WAS A LOT OF FUN GOING ON ABOUT BOSTON--CHARLESTOWN TOWNIES ,ROZZIE ETC BUT NO JP --GLAD TO SEE IT MENTIONED-DID YOU GROW UP THERE?

Won't be there then but will be there June 27th.

It's getting so close I can actually smell it! :D

This Bostonian is taking another kind of trip and not to WDW this time!;)
So no lime green ribbon here. But think of me when you meet the mouse!

We will be there July 17-21. Just a longish weekend. We were there in April for school vacation but this time its just me and my husband. We are staying at the CBR and saving our DVC points for an extended family trip in 2005. We will also be checking up on the house we are building near Tampa for our move to Florida next June.:bounce: :bounce:

Hi,

We're Bostonians that will be at WDW the end of July-early August at the Poly. We're so excited! I haven't really thought about a wearing a green ribbon. Is it for being a user of this site? I'm a "new" Disney researcher since we just booked this trip last month. But I have been to WDW several times (before the abundance of internet info!)

Will be there mid - late July. Please tell me about the lime green ribbons. I also live North of Boston. We have a whole crew going.

Thanks for the posts everyone! We will be at the Swan July 24th. Wearing a lime green ribbon identifies you as a DISer to other DISers. It gives us a chance to say "hi" if we encounter each other in WDW. :)

needabreak ~ I'll be flying out of Manchester on SWA for the first time. Any tips or advice? Is the first come first serve seat selection a problem?

cpl ~ what dates are you going?

We will be at Universal and WDW (no set schedule for days) from July 20 - August 1. I will look for a lime green ribbon to buy.

No..we are leaving on SUNDAY and flying out of Logan. I just bought myself a lime green backpack and I made a tag out of the Mickey heads paint chips from Home Depot and secured it to the bp. Maybe some DISers will see it.

Have a great trip!!

Jill

JESW ~ Have a magical trip! BTW, did you get an early morning non-stop flight out of Logan? I couldn't find any for our trip. Thus, the trek to SWA Manchester.

I'm a Hoosier but I will be there from July 21-July 26. I will wear a lime green ribbon!!!

Maribeth

Mouseteacher - We take the 11:35 flight on Delta out of Logan. That works well for our family since we can get up our regular times and still get to the airport on time. (We hire a driver to get us in town) We always go on the non-stop flight.

JESW ~ We always took Delta Express 7:00 am non-stop. When I was booking about 3 weeks ago, Delta was not showing (online) any nonstop until 3:15 pm. So, I called Delta and was told the only nonstop was that 3:15 one. We needed to arrive by noon since our stay is only 5 days/4 nights. Oh well, we're giving SWA a try and parking at Manchester is cheaper than Logan.

Enjoy this cloudy day the best you can! ;)

needabreak...no, I grew up in Tewksbury (married a guy from Chelmsford :) ). My mom grew up in JP then moved to Dot just before she and my dad got married. My dad is a Southie native - one of those you can take the boy out of the city, but not the city out of the boy guys!!. He spent his summer there boating out of the SBYC until he sold his boat last year - boy, is he still bummed!

I forget who asked about SWA and change of flight fees. There is no fee per se. You can cancel your existing flight and rebook a new flight w/out penalties. The catch...you pay todays fare prices...so if they are higher that's when it costs you!!

Have a great day everyone...and a week from today I'll be secretly packing for our trip - kids still don't know :Pinkbounc

mouseteacher--have flown out of manchester many times but most recent was very soon after 9-11---although that time it was us air--found manchester to be much less hectic than logan -no crowds etc--security at that time was very tight-i have to say that i would prefer the ride to logan but all in all manchester's arrivals and departures are much easier-we havent left our car there-we have someone drive us-but we are considering it this trip--last time i tried to check on the parking situation there i was told there was none available-will have to call again i guess-i think you will really enjoy southwest air though-they are a little more friendly than delta express

It is my understanding that there is parking at or near Manchester Airport and it is cheaper than Logan. I have not availed myself of it, but I have been told it exists.
