Who's Going in December?

I am hoping (fingers crossed) that my DD and I will be able to make it.

We tried to go last year during Christmastime and discovered our tickets had Blackout dates!

So, this year we are planning EARLIER in December.
She will be 14 on December 1st and wants more than anything to visit DL during the Holiday season.

Any advice/thoughts/info on weather in Dec? I've looked at highs and lows, but I'm still trying to figure out packing lists... It will be kinda weird to pack swimsuits and sweathsirts! LOL!

It's wonderful to make that birthday wish come true! We're going to celebrate quite a few things - a belated celebration for DD's graduation, my birthday, Christmas, and just plain making it through a difficult year.

I've heard the temperature can be freezing, really warm, or anything in between. It was a lot like that where I grew up in Monterey. I'd suggest to plan to dress in layers. That way you won't be caught off guard no matter where the temperature decides to land.

I think the discounts are few and far between this year. I'm with you - can't wait to see all of the changes! Our last trip was in 2010, but with all of the changes, it'll seem like a lot longer I'm sure.

We have booked our hotel for the time we are going to be there and are staying at the Marriott Anaheim Suites through LMT. Heck of a deal at $75 a night for such a large room. Thanks again for keeping this thread updated Escape2Disney.

We're flying in from Australia 8-13 Dec (then on to WDW for 13-22Dec). Have room booked at Ramada Main Gate for $95pn with free upgrade to deluxe (i.e. QS instead of DB), but am keeping an eye out for discounted rates at on-site hotels. Have done WDW twice but never DL. DD15 & DD13 are sooooooo looking fwd to seeing haunted mansion with Nightmare overlay - they are HUGE NBC fans, and are just dying to see Jack for an autograph & photo.

Hi everyone! I'm very excited to join this group. My family of 4 is going to be there Dec 17-22, and then we'll travel to AZ to visit family for Christmas and my son's 4th birthday. The kids know about AZ with the grandparents, but they have no idea we're going to DL first. It's going to be a magical surprise!

We're staying at BWPPI. We were originally at PVI, but I cancelled due to the bedbug report. Ick.

I hope to do at least one character meal, and plan to spend a lot of time in Carsland. Both kids love Cars, but my son is absolutely obsessed. I have a feeling that they will be in heaven just walking around there, not to mention the rides, etc.

I look forward to hearing all about everyone else's plans! I've already learned so much about DL reading through all the threads over the last couple months.
