Who's going August 2009??

You are better than I lol. I have no intention of ever driving to WDW from NY. Just purchased 3 tickets ISP to MCO on SWA $777.60. If I purchased the day before.... $1800.00

When I was a kid we used to drive a lot from upstate NY. It wasn't so bad but we had a TV and VCR sometimes my dad drove straight through though The worst was when we traveled with my grandparents. 4 adults and 3 kids in the van for 20+ hours was no picnic!

BTW we are going to be there 8/17 thru 8/22 we have reservations at ASM bc POP was full but I am going to try to get into POP in the mean time! Very very excited!!

We are from Louisiana and we drive to WDW every year. The drive can take anywhere from 14 to 16 hours depending on traffic and weather. We usually leave around 6:00 p.m. and drive until midnight. We get up the next morning and are on the road by 9:00 a.m. and drive until we pull into our resort. The first time we did the drive, our son was just 1 and our daughter was 11. They are now 12 and 22 and they don't mind the drive at all (of course they have 13 trips under their belts so they know how long it's going to be).

Our drive back home is straight through to home. We only stop to eat, gass up and take bathroom breaks.

August 5th can't get here soon enough!

Oh - dates?? Crazy hot insane summer - August 16th-21st at AKL, then on to WL from 8/21-8/24!!!!

NO! Because the 16th is the first day of free dining if it was the last day and you were there from the 16th thru the 24th or so on you would get it the entire trip ! That is like say free dining ends on October 3rd and I check in by the 3rd I will get free dining for my entire trip.( But I must check in on the 3rd no later) I never heard of it the way you were thinking would be backwards . Hope this helps! Changing your check out day to the 16th wouldnt work! But I never seen it go backwards from check out only foward from the last day of free dining being your first day. I hope I explained well enough for you to understand what I'm trying to tell you.

I think you have to choose between the 40% off rate and FD. Maybe if you split the reservation you could use the 40% off for the pre Aug 15 part and FD for thepost Aug 15 part...
