Can't wait!!! We are going Aug. 20-29!! Have never gone in the summer so I am a bit concerned about the crowds but got great advice from so many people on here. Thanks again. Staying at Coronado for the 3rd time round!! So glad they have the extended hours. It makes it much easier!!

Ears, you are going during an "edge" period, not the pure summer high season. Crowds in late August are definitely smaller than what you see in July or early August (all those sunbelt school systems are open by mid August, so those families disappear). Yet the park hours and entertainment schedules are still reasonable. That's why we feel that late August is one of the best "secret seasons" at WDW.

We'll be there. Pop Century from 8/17 to 8/25. I'm a product of the 60's, but I'm cheap too!! So we'll probably try for 70's section - close enough.

DW and I are will be staying at AKL (first time on Disney property!! ) from 8/21-8/29. And DW will be celebrating birthday number 32 during our stay (on 8/22, to be exact). We hear that the crowds should be lighter, so that's cool, and we're keeping our fingers majorly crossed that a hurricane doesn't hit while we're there, or before we arrive...

Hi!! We are staying at POR Aug 26- Sep1. SOOOO excited to go for the first time with dd4.5 and ds2.5! (dh and I went together back in '94 and I have been 3 other times as a child/teenager)
