Just reading over some of the posts regarding queues and crowds in the "busy periods". :crowded: One post was saying that there were still 70min wait times for rides at midnight on EMH days!!! :scared1:

Now I am worried - this is the first visit to WDW in July for DBF and myself!! I wanted to experience WDW on the 4th July against the better judgement of the other half!! :worried:

So I guess my questions are: -

1. Is 4th July week as busy/busier than Spring Break / Easter?

2. Any idea when the EMH will be posted for July?

3. Would we be better doing the parks the week after 4th July?

4. Any ideas where to eat on the 4th July??

Thanks guys, any advise would be greatly received :love2:

So I guess my questions are: -

1. Is 4th July week as busy/busier than Spring Break / Easter? IMO it's not as busy as Spring Break. However, it is a nice amount of people.
2. Any idea when the EMH will be posted for July? No, they are not out yet!

3. Would we be better doing the parks the week after 4th July? I went last year July 2-10 and none of the days was to bad. There was waits but, nothing to be worried about!
4. Any ideas where to eat on the 4th July?? We did MGM on the 4th. For dinner we did Fantasmic @ Hollywood & Vine. That was the 1st time at this resturant and it was pretty good. A nice selection of food. Also, this guaranteed our seating for Fantasmic.

Thanks guys, any advise would be greatly received :love2:

I will be there again July 2-12 at the Swan! Can't wait....97 days and counting! HAVE FUN

Thanks for your post! I am feeling a lot better about the visit now! :cloud9: I am really looking forward to the vacation - I really can't wait. :cool1:

We will be at the AKL 1st - 15th July. Hope you have a fantastic time :goodvibes

My mom and dad went during 4th of july a few years ago. I wasn't there but they said it was so packed they would never go again during the 4th of july.

we are going this year from july 3rd- the 13th. we know that wherever we go on the 4th it will be crazy crowded :crowded: :crowded: so this we are ready for.

last year we went from the 7th for 10 days and it really wasnt too bad. i really didnt feel like i was going to get claustrophobic because of the crowds, in fact i found them to be most manageable. i am hoping that because the 4th is a monday that many people will use this as an extension of the weekend and leave the next day. :rolleyes1 so i can have WDW all to myself!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

cant wait

I went last year from 6/26-7/5. The crowds were getting larger and larger it got closer to the 4th. The 4th was really just ridiculously crowded. Since I left the next day, I wasn't in any of the parks on the 5th but I heard they became more manageable. I personally would never go back near 7/4. My best advice is to use fast pass, and take advantage of EMH. Also, if possible, avoid going into any parks on 7/4. Maybe that would be a good day for some shopping, resort shopping or relaxing by the hotel pool. Everyone was raving about the fireworks, I didn't think they were any better than they usually are. I'm sure you can see them from outside the park somewhere. You'll still have a great time, you'll be in WDW! (What made it worse for me was that I tripped and fell half way through the trip and had to be pushed in a wheelchair.. got home to find out I tore a ligament in my foot- ouch!)

We were there last year and it was crowded. I don't know if it was more crowded than, say, spring break or Christmas, but we still enjoyed it. My brother wanted to stay at MK July 4th,(the whole day) and that was ok. I remember a down pour in the middle of the day, so we all hang out in a gift store and shopped and relaxed a bit. It cooled off a bit after that. We ate at Pecos Bill and had to wait a bit to order, but we expected it. The fire works were great.

Tha days after that wasn't so bad that I thought I would never again come here on the 4th. Just as long as you know it will be hot, humid, crowded and raining in the afternoon you will be fine. . You will be at WDW. :flower:

We hit the parks in the morning took a break to swim in the afternoon then went to another park in the evening.

We are going again July 2 - 9, staying at the BC. And we can't wait :bounce:

We'll be there June 29-July 16. We plan on staying away from MK most of the day. We'll either do Epcot in the am or let the kids do the Pirate Cruise and then hang out at the pool. We're hoping to have dinner at LTT in the MK though. THen we're just going to head back to the GF and hopefully watch the fireworks from our lagoon view balcony. I think as long as your expectations aren't that you'll do everything on the 4th like a normal day and just relax and enjoy the Fourth of July. Hope to see you all there - it's getting close to PS time . . .

We'll be there, staying at POR, from July 2-8. I am so envious of those of you staying longer :) I haven't finalized what we're doing on the fourth, yet, but this is our first trip. Can't wait to see the kids' reaction (shhh - it is a surprise!) :flower:

We were there last year July 1st - 9th. Park wasn't bad except on the 4th itself.

We will be at SSR July 4th thru 9th. It was the only time that the extended family could get together. We are going in thinking that we may not spend much time in the parks. We may just take it easy and spend a lot of time at the pool.

Go Illini!!!

We will be there the 2-9th. We were there 2 years ago for the 4th of July. It is crowded, I won't lie but if you are prepared it won't be so bad. Just don't go thinking it won't be. Pace yourself and ENJOY!!

We will be there starting July 1 for 8 nights. We will be at the CBR. Can someone make suggestions for what to do on the 4th? This is our first visit for the July 4th holiday.

:cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

I can't really answer any of your questions but we will be there from July 3rd to the 10th. On the fourth, we are planning to go to AK to hopefully stay away from some of the largest crowds. DisneyaholicRaquel has made me feel a bit better. I know the fourth itself is crowded but it's reassuring to know that our whole trip might not be.

Also, I wanted to invite anyone (including the OP) who is visiting the World in July to check out our July thread and leave your mark. The link is below in my signature. Also, we have a little bit of discussion about crowds going on in there.

Ali

But not untill after the 4th! We wanted to miss at least some of the crowds. Hopes it helps, but I'm sure we'll all have fun anyway! We'll be there from the 6th thru the 11th! :teeth:

We were there last year from July 1st thru the 9th, and never experienced any problems with the crowds. We did EPCOT on the 4th & then saw the DTD fireworks from SSR at midnight. This year we'll be there from June 26th thru July 9th, and it can't come soon enough..........the weather in the Northeast has been the pits!
As you can guess, since were going for the 4th two years in a row, we didn't find it bad at all!!!!!

:thewave:

We'll be there from July 6 -13th, a week earlier than last year because of our APs. I admit I was a little worried about the crowds but I don't think they will be much different than last year. Don't get me wrong, it was crowded but manageable. And even if it is crowded, hey we're in WDW right?? :cool1:

We were there 6/28 through 7/10 last year. Crowds were not as bad as I had expected.....crowded but manageable. The heat, however, wasn't manageable !! It was unbelieveable !! It wasn't bad enough to scare us off because we'll be there this year 6/25 through 7/10 this year !! We spent the 4th at DTD during the day (very crowded) and EPCOT in the evening. Future World was open late and virtually empty ! The fireworks were very nice - crowded but alright. Took a while catching a bus but it was a beautiful night out so who cared !! You have to go when you can go and enjoy it !! Just plan on taking the heat into account if you are not from a location that gets blisteringly hot !! Have fun !! :sunny:

We are going 6-29-7-5 staying at POR! We are used to the crowds and have PS for O'hana's for fireworks! then I plan to go to Epcot if the fireworks are over at MK in time :)

We'll be there from the 2nd to the 12th. So far we are staying at POR. We'll hit Epcot for the fireworks on the 4th. This will be our third time doing the 4th of July in Disney.
