who's getting the christmas trip goosebumps?

I leave Wednesday afternoon and I'm very tense about it. I'm not sure why, but i think it's because last time I drove for a holiday trip I got in a car accident. I WANT to be there, I just dont WANT to drive there. Maybe it's the $$$$ part of it. I had to book a more expensive hotel because my DS9 has a cough and I'm afraid he will keep everyone up so I had to get a parlor suite which is $200 more than planned.

Yeah we are giving up our christmas presents so we can do our trip,and had to get a loan cause our cat vet bill was 2000.00!! hahaha

I am so excited! We took our kids year before last, and last year, but both times were in march/april, so I'm VERY excited to see the Christmas decorations! What makes it even more exciting is that it's a suprise trip for the kiddos (ages 6, 4, 3 and 16 mos) for my older boy's 5th b-day.. they're gonna flip! Now, it's just a one day one park trip, but still, better than nothing!
Another plus to this trip (and the reason for the trip to so cal in the first place) is that my brother will be in from out of state for work, who I haven't seen in about 15 years, and we're planning on visiting him the day after DL when he gets done with his job.. so this trip is just all kinds of exciting!

Alright I have just 20 days until I leave on our big adventure for DL!! It might be packed, it might be cold but not everyday can you spend Christmas day in DL, with the mouse!! I am so excited!! I need to starting making my packing list, shopping list, get the stockings together and oh man do I have enough time??

We got our package last week - we're leaving in less than two weeks and I can't wait! We just got our first snow yesterday - hopefully it will be clear for our trip.

Yesterday I bought some new luggage (in Edmonds, from the Rick Steves store, yay) so I'm starting to feel better about the trip. Still can't decide if I'm bringing the stroller, though...

Just wanted to tell you before you leave, thank you for all of your helpful advice you gave me. Have a wonderful, magical, and safe time with your family in Disneyland. Hopefully the weather calms down around here. They say it's only going to rain but who knows around here. anyway have fun!!!

What day do you actually get to DL/DCA? If it's Saturday or Sunday, keep a lookout for me and DS (and whoever else is following us around, lol) and we can have an impromptu Tacoma meetup! I'm still thinking about sneaking into the regular at-the-hub noon Sunday meetup of a different site, lol. But I think my brother and SIL would think that is BEYOND weird of me, so I might not. Or I could abandon my family and say I have to shop...bwa ha ha...

Bumbershoot, I'm sending warm and dry thoughts your way . I just looked at the 15 day forecast (not really sure how accurate it really is) but it predicts rain for my first day in LA I hope the predictions are wrong for both our trips - after driving around in slush all day, I am really looking forward to some sun!

I'm seriously bummed here too. I have been checking the 15 day for about a week now, and it's been all PLENTY OF SUN-- BRIGHT AND SUNNY
Now today: RAIN LIKELY for Friday. I am HOPING that it's overnight. I really want to see fireworks and Fantasmic. This is IT!!! for us for the rest of the year. No more DL trips planned until NEXT years Christmas. We miss it, too bad so sad.

We will leave the house this coming Saturday at 4:30am sharp and Our flight leaves Seattle @ 6:40am. So we should be getting into anahiem around 9ish. We'll pick up the rental car and head over to the hotel. We should be in the parks around 10 or 11ish. but who knows. Just me and my husband the first three days then his cousin and parents are going to there later on in the week. I can't wait. I have been grounded to my house all weekend doing homework All I have to do now is take my finals and 1 more conference with a parent of mine and I'll be off and in officially in VACATION/DISNEYLAND mode by Thursday So, I'll just have to make it through the week. Hopefully the work/school week goes by fast!

My brother, who lives in San Diego, is already blaming me for the weather. Seems he thinks that all I have to do is plan a trip down there, and the clouds roll in.

Heck, he might have something...after all, during our trip in September, our names had just been announced at MTTMM as the family of the day for ToonTown, and I had just said "we're from Tacoma, WA" when the skies opened up and it poured like I haven't seen since Spartanburg, SC or Miami.

So maybe I am causing it!

The only weather forecast that anybody should be putting any stock into is abou 3-4 days max. Looking at a 15 day forecast means ZERO. I guarantee the 15 day will change almost daily. So dont get yourselves too worked up over it, cuz it will change and probably for the better. Its Disneyland...sunny skies will be there!

Hang in there. Think positive thoughts. I think of what we're going thru here right now with major flooding and rain that wont quit, winds that were 100 mph+ in spots. Dont let a little rain dampen the spirit!
