Who's from NH?

I don't normally post but I just had to come in and say Hi from Newport. I will be going to Disney for the second time in December 2008.:cheer2:

Funny NH story, totally off topic though.

DH's employee almost got picked for to be on the jury on the Dodd's case (we're in Dover). Just got off by saying he plays golf with a policemen! :woohoo:

Rats, I didn't get anything that interesting when I was picked for jury duty!! :rotfl:

Hi up there in Newport! I love your town. We drive through often on our way up to I-89. It seems like a really neat little town!

Hi from Sandown as well. Unfortunately my next trip to Disney won't be until December 2009. :sad2:

Checking in for our state capitol of Concord! Also lived for many years (and owned a business) in Jaffrey and spent my teen years in Nashua.

I am from The lebanon area :cool1: I am heading back down to Disney around Labor Day.

Wow, what a mess this morning! Of course our town is the worst with cancelling school so the kids didn't have a delay today! About three of the roads were covered in a sheet of ice when I was trying to take them! :headache:

At least only three more weeks of this, then we're off to WDW!

I think ConVal has you beat! Last Friday, they cancelled school completely (anticipating the mess coming in the afternoon). Ok, I can understand that, I'd rather be safe than sorry, but most other schools opted to close at noon.

TODAY!...ice on EVERY thing, EVERY other town or district around us for 50 miles is on a 2-hour delay - not ConVal (we're in the Monadnock region and the district is made up of NINE towns, most of which have lots of small winding back roads that don't get a lot of attention in this type of weather!!).

So I just kept my kids home! Didn't want them on the bus, didn't want to drive on ice.

Ugh, I can't wait until winter is over...:headache:

I feel for you, if I lived anywhere more rural than do I would go insane!Dover/Seacoast is pretty urban compared to the Monadnock region, they don't plow our roads until at least six hours after the storm, I can't imagine what it's like where you are! When a normally four minute trip to school takes twenty you know the roads are bad!

I got in an accident when I was in school because of black ice (and this was April). I was going over a small bridge, went over the ice, and was involved in a fourteen car accident (which luckily wasn't a pile-up)! :scared1: I guess that's why it bothers me so much.

Does North Central MA count? :)

Actually worked a few years in Salem and spend quite a bit of my winters riding up in Pittsburg.

You do know Pittsburg don't you? ;)

Hello again from Newport. Just wanted to get this thread on the front page so any newbies from NH could come in and say Hello! :woohoo:

I found this thread by searching for Merrimack, NH. We're heading up fron CT for the Anheuser Busch tour and to meet the clydesdales. Can anyone recommend a clean hotel in the area? Is there anything else to do? Our kids are 5 & 2. Thanks!!

Just wanted to see if anyone from the great state of NH would be interested in having a NH thread on the community board? We could talk about our state and whatever else comes up. :)

Hi! Grew up in Fremont, NH, lived in Hampstead NH for a while, and just bought a home in Stratham NH!
