Who's driving in Nov/Dec?

Okay 2 things:
1. Where do you buy the car paint you mentioned?
2. Finally someone who has a longer drive than we do!!! Thank-you! I was beginning to feel like a freak for driving so far.

Oops...I lied. One more thing. For those of you with a long drive what sort of car maintenance do you do for your car before you go? Or do some of you use a rental car to save wear and tear on your own? Please help, I need advice on this!

We do a lot of shorter drives in the winter (400 mi each way)
I'm going to have this done before we go..
Fluids/Filters (change oil, check radiator fluid, change oil filter/air filter)
Check tires,maybe rotate if needed.
Fill windshield washer juice.
Carry oil, radiator fluid, more washer juice.
If the car is in basically good shape, that should be it!

so, have fun!

Ialways take mine to my garage.check timing belt in newer cars they last about 50,000 miles and break with no notice.check brakes,tires ,battery checking alternator can catch low output before it becomes a problem.change oil and check all fluids you should be good.we went the first week of oct after checking all that driving threw atlanta at 4 am i heard a rattle then all at once the motor got really loud broken flange on the excaust system.luckily it could be driven on to orlando to be fixed. sounded like a stock car though lol.Usually if your local garage gives you the tumbs up you will be okay.have a good trip.

My husband will drive down from NJ the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and will go back the Sunday after. He will begin his drive around 3:00am both days, so he arrives by around 9:00pm. He'll adjust this schedule based on weather. He likes to get a really good start on the drive in those wee morning hours before there's anyone else on the road, and minimize the time he has to drive in the dark in the later part of the trip.

He'll make the same trip in December, probably arriving the Saturday before Christmas and leaving the day after the WDW Marathon to go back home.

He drives a 2005 Prius, so he doesn't do anything special before he leaves.

1. We bought it at walmart in the automotive dept comes of easy but stays on in rain ..

2. No problem I feel the same way .

3. For the car it is we alternate our 2 cars excursion and town and country minivan and they are both fairly new . I just get a oil change at the dealer and have them check brakes tires and such .

We will be driving down from KY, we will leave at about 5 am and will get there about 6 pm.

We drive with all the kids each time-22 hours from northern Indiana. We too have it down to a science. We leave at 4pm and drive all night. We arrive between 1-2pm - shower and then hit DTD. It's a tradition. Who needs sleep when you have the mouse?

We're driving from texas!! We do the drive quite often. Leaving Sat. morning around 2:30 a.m. and arrive in Orlando around 8:00 p.m. Can't wait!!!!

We're driving from NC. Since this is our first trip I have no idea how long it will take with potty, food and stretch breaks. We're planning to leave on Saturday 12/3 and drive most of the way, stop for the night about an hour out, and then drive straight to SeaWorld on Sunday morning. We don't check into our condo until Sunday afternoon.

So.....anyone have a suggestion about where to hold up for the night? I'm thinking we'll be on I-4 and I want to be about an hour or two at the most from Sea World.

We are driving in December from North Alabama.

Us too! (from North Alabama that is!)

We'll be travelling a little earlier in the month than you but same plan - split up and drive part one day and part the next. This is our first big trip with our now 16 month old so we're working on a new travel "routine."

We'll be driving down from Washington, DC. It about a 13 -14 hour drive. That doesn't bother me at all, I LOVE road trips. I figure it gives us a chance to see places we would'nt normally see.

The kids are happy with their movies and cd players. Hubby is always happy on vacation.

We are driving from Dallas! Plan to leave Friday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. and drive straight through. We are taking 20 to 10 to 12 to 10. Is this the best way? Thank you!

This is just from the top of my brain. I haven't done the numbers/mileage but
20 is a much smoother/less crowded drive. We travelled it recently from Meridian, MS to Shreveport. I'm not sure if it would be quicker though. I do think it's better road
and less traffic.

When we're coming in late, we always like to stop for the night in Ocala. There are plenty of hotels, restaurants, etc. there. Then, when we wake up, we're just an hour from Disney World!

We are driving to Orlando from Miami Beach, Florida at the end of November - we can't wait - we are soooo excited. The cast is as follows: Me (34) my Husband (43) my mom (69) and my dad (81). I love to see my parents acting like little kids while at Disney. I think I enjoy that more than anything else. aw:

We are driving from upstate South Carolina a week from Friday and it should take us about eight hours. We usually pack a cooler with drinks and snacks for our three children, may even pack lunch meat and do sandwiches as we travel to get down there. I will do most of the driving though DH will help and we may let the 15 year old with permit have a go on the straight interstates. They take books and I pack coloring books and activity books for the six year old; the 13 year old has his Game Boy and they'll take pillows and blankets and snooze. We joined AAA for the security net since our mini van is getting some age on it. If I get a chance not to drive, I'll either read or quilt DS's quilt.
