Who's doing an onsite stay longer than 14 days (currently or soon)?

Just wondering what they are doing about implementing 'length of stay feature' on the Rapid Refill mugs which are set to be good for 14 days from what I understand. This, I presume, is on the basis that booking a Disney room or package other than through WDTC UK has a maximum stay limit of 14 days.

I will need to factor in and remember if we have to pay for the remaining days separately

Thanks peeps :goodvibes

I'll be at POR (oct 21st-nov 11th) on the DDP (21 nights)

From what I get, the Repid Refill mugs can be manually extended by the CM
it's either linked to your ressie (automatic), or you need to tell the CM at the register (manual), but I saw on one site (can't remember where) a CM screen where there is an "extend one day" button, so they definitely have the ability to extend to length of stay over 14 days

I have a 21 days dining plan with refillable mug, and that mug better last 21 days :)

Thanks :thumbsup2

Yes the question was prompted by another thread elsewhere, where guests were discussing the calendar day vs 24 hour validity and I was wondering how that applies to length of stay mugs.

You're right - they had better honor it!

I couldn't find any threads about "real" experience.
The DFB states that the mugs can be extended past the 14 days limit, but every site I looked at was not giving any confirmation for this

anyway, we'll soon know :)

Thanks, yes pretty much what I had found when I checked on it a few weeks ago. It's pretty new and has only just been fully rolled out so it's early days yet. I am fairly confident that they will make allowances for the longer stays, given that they have an international office which encourages them (and charges accordingly :rolleyes1)

Time will tell. And so will you :teeth:

We're doing 15 nights in October I asked this only 2 days ago on the dining plan thread and most said you would have to pay extra, I did say that better not be the case I'd be pretty mad!!

We have a stay over 14 nights in December and would love to find out. I'm thinking of it the same way as photopass+ - they seem happy to extend it for length of stay. Fingers crossed!

I expect that response on the main boards (non UK in other words) because a 14 day stay is the maximum number of consecutive days you can book. It makes sense and is therefore a logical response. It is exactly as published by Disney, but there are always exceptions that are not listed.

We had our PP+ extended last year with no issues. I didn't even know it was an option as I had read the terms to be 14 days and asked the CM if we could activate the card from our second day in the parks so that it lasted up until our last MNSSHP. She asked for our room key, checked the dates and punched them into the card, stating that the 14 day rule is generally ample, but they do accept that there are some international guests who book longer packages and they will honor these.

I am hoping that on that same basis, they will apply it to the resort mugs.

I am keen to know when the mug expires on check out day. Does it expire at midnight after check out or at midnight on your last full day? That is the question

I did state that I was from the UK and that we get dining for longer,
I really can not see them charging people on the dp for extra days.
I assumed it was midnight on check out day like the Dp.

Must be midnight on last full day as the first day would be the day you check in however I think we will have to wait and see as like the "14 day" tickets that appear to last 14 nights so 15 days then perhaps the mugs will follow suit?!

Just to let you know that I've just dropped an email to guest relations re: refillable mugs over 14 days.

I'll keep you posted

They will extend beyond 14 nights no problem. The whole 14 night thing is centred around domestic US guests as this is the maximum number of nights that they can book (certainly through the WDW website!) Domestic guests are their biggest customer, so it makes sense to centre their policies and procedures around them.

Got this info from the beach club forum.
Info from September .

A chip is on the bottom on the mugs.

The Rapid Fill mugs can be used at any resort hotel quick service fountain, regardless of where it was originally purchased.

Unlike the existing refillable mug program where pricing is fixed for a length of stay, the new Rapid Fill will use a tiered pricing structure:
" $8.99 for 1 day
" $11.99 for 2 days
" $14.99 for 3 days
" $17.99 for length of stay
Side note: days are counted as a calendar day, and not a 24 hour period! If you purchase a one day mug at 9 PM Sunday night, it stops working in three hours. Midnight is the cut off time ... doesn't matter when you purchase them.

As with the current refillable mug program, it will be included in some Disney Dining Plan benefits. Past mugs will not be able to be reused, and a new mug will need to be purchased for each resort stay.

The "length of stay" mugs are really 14 day mugs. Let's say you check in today at the BC and purchase the length of stay mug. It's good at any Disney resort (and now they are saying only resorts, not water parks) for 14 days. So you can do split stays, you can go on a 3 day cruise and come back and for 14 days, your mug works. If your reservation is for 17 days, you bring the mug back to merchandise on the 14th day and they will reprogram it for the next 3 days. They can "read" the chip that is on the mugs so they can tell the day you purchased it, etc. As far as loosing one, you MUST show your receipt.

You cannot microwave these mugs. It fries the chip. If you bring it back to merchandise with a fried chip, then you are out of luck, receipt or not.

There is also a regular old cardboard cup that can be purchased for a few dollars. It is good for 2 hours and/or 4 refills. It also has a chip on it.

The dispensers only dispense 12 ounces at a time and once you use your mug for a fill-up, you cannot get another fill-up for 2-1/2 minutes
Reports from guests that Rapid Refill Mug are being sold at the Beach Club Marketplace. Regular mugs still allowable for now since this change started mid-stay for some. Will keep everyone posted as more info is provided.

Hope this is still the same as we are doing 16 days!

We got the old mugs when we arrived as the new system hadn't been rolled out yet. About halfway through they changed to the rapid fill mugs and dispensers. Obviously our old mugs wouldn't work and I was told in the food court I would have to buy new mugs! I was on the dining plan and had length of stay refillable mugs so was positive they had it wrong. A trip to the front desk cleared it up, they put credits for the mugs on my cards and when I got them the receipt said good untill the 30th september. This was only around the 8th or so, we came home on the 11th- so definately longer than 14days. Im not sure whether they can manually put a date into the system for when they scan the chip, but they definately could enable it for more than 14 days.

Well that puts paid to my second question about what stage of the check out day they expire. I wonder if they are set up differently now that they are issued at check in. I am keen to hear what they say in response to chmurf.

Thank you for the update. It's sounding hopeful ::yes::

Hurray, they replied, at last ... I was beginning to lose hope.
I would have dyed my hair and kicked off my Crocs, but unfortunately I'm bald ... :)

so, Disney answered re: repid refill and over 14 days stays

here what they had to say

hank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

The refillable mug is good for your length of stay. You are looking at
package restrictions for United States packages, those from the UK are
slightly different particularly in the length of stay offered.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Thank you for following up on that and posting the response. It looks like good news all round on the mug front :thumbsup2

Now to set them straight on the photopass prints ......

Hi we just got back from 21 nights at SSR and they had to reset all of our mugs for the last week of our stay, it took seconds, no problems.:)
