Who's coming to DL for the Half Marathon Labor Day Weekend - Updated with Meets!

I'm so glad that you guys bumped this thread! I was looking for info of people meeting up since i heard pete talk about it on the podcast. unfortunately i dont spend enough time on the podcast board.

Ill be there with my fiance. Hes running the half and ill probably do 5K. Especially if theres a nice group to be with

I'm so excited! I've been having the blues since i got back from my 5 months in wdw. A trip to DL is just what i need. I might drag my grandma and mom along too.

Do you guys recommend registering for the half soon?

I would say to register soon. You can probably hold off another couple weeks until the guys can announce if they got group stuff for the run, but I believe that you can also transfer your affiliation later.

We (Val & I) may be going, but its going to depend on the events (we're not runners) and what airfare looks like from the right coast for that weekend. Can you list us as tentative?

I've officially decided to head out west for the big weekend! With the Podcast meet and the opportunity for the coast to coast medal, I couldn't resist! I haven't been able to find out just how full the Half is at this point and certainly don't want it to sell out before I register. Pete, or anyone in the know, are we close to hearing about possible race packages? Thanks for any info!

Hey Jason, my understanding is that if they haven't posted how full the race is, then it's not at 50% capacity yet.

Yes, I think you are right. Amazing how slow that race is filling. I'm sure it's falling victim to the economy like so many other things. I'll just hold off on registering a bit longer to see what packages the DIS may come up with. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I am hoping we can switch our dates and go a week earlier than we are planning (which I wanted to do all along but now have a bigger incentive!) If not, we will miss out by a week! This will be our first ever DL trip (Thank you DVC developer points!)!

We live about 45 minutes N of St. Louis. We can't wait to get to DL! I've always wanted to go!

The Country Music Marathon in Nashville was yesterday. Now that is officially over, so ready to focus on Disneyland.

I would ordinarily already have booked my hotel by now. Not sure if I should wait for a potential group deal?

We will be in Disneyland from noon on Friday Sept 4 thru noon on Tuesday Sept 8. We had this trip planned before the Dis announcement as we are using our developer points from buy into the Grand California Villas to stay at the Disneyland Hotel.

Sharon wil be running in the 5k on Saturday while I watch from the sidelines.

We are hoping that whatever Pete and the gang have planned that we can buy into the "Dis" events.

See some of you on the cruise in 13 days.

I will be doing the half marathon to receive the coveted Coast to Coast Medal, yea!!! I am so excited. It will be my first trip to Disneyland. I will probably be doing the 5k as well on Saturday (just to get a little sneak peak of the park).
I am staying at HoJo Sept 4 to 7, then moving over to the Grand California for 5 nights (Buy 3, get 2 nights offer ). I will also be attending the D23 Expo September 10-12.
I couldn't be more excited about this great opportunity to meet some of you, especially Jeff from Hawaii.

What's being planned on your end? Friday or Saturday meet?

Nothing confirmed yet on my thread with the WISH group.

Either it will be informal, fronting Jamba Juice again in Downtown Disney, or we could hit the Lost Hideaway bar behind the Disneyland Hotel pool. Downtown Disney is usually packed

I also suggested the Anaheim Garden Walk, which is about 1 mile from the DL parking lot on Harbor Blvd. http://www.anaheimgardenwalk.com/

Hey Jeff. We're still waiting to hear from Pete on official plans. I don't expect we'll see anything until after the Podcast Cruise - so give them another two weeks or so.

We totally don't know what excitement Pete has up his sleeve, but I bet it will be faaaaabulous and worth the wait!
