Who's coming to DL for the Half Marathon Labor Day Weekend - Updated with Meets!

I just spoke to Marcia. She's at Disneyland celebrating her mom's birthday (yesterday). 30K people in DL yesterday. That's crowded!

She said California Adventure is going through some extreme re-modeling. Parts of the park is being torn down. New attractions, and entry way.

I told her to take pictures, but she forgot to bring a camera today.

Now we know why there's a new course for the half marathon. On the left, click on Event Details, then click on Course.

I got an opening, lol, rarely do I not have an opening but remind me later. Sign me for the half K dole whip crawl, lol. My knees are shot as is most of me so no running unless it is free dole whip.

I will be there to meet and greet and cheer.

Nancy, just signed Luc (DS 18) and I up for the Disneyland 5K. I also booked us the whole labor day weekend at HOJO's on the ent. rate. I can't wait.

Just signed up the husband and me for the 1/2. The 11 year old (Leia) wants to do the 5k; however, we have to check out the school schedule.

It's a great race. This will be my 3rd time (2nd Coast to Coast). Life is good.

Not sure if I will participate in the run.
Definitely want to join in any events or Meet & Greets.

Anyone know a really cheap hotel near the parks? I will be with the in laws in Laguna Beach, but would also like to be close to the parks a few nights.

Don, Howard Johnson is across the street from Disneyland on the Space Mountain side. It's about a 7 minute walk from the main entrance. Right now they have room rates for that weekend at the Entertainment Card Rate of $59, $69, and $79 per night. The HOJO is a very well respected hotel. If you need an ENT. Card/Book they are available at Barnes and Noble for around $25 (well worth what you get out of it). Here is a link to the dates. Warning-HOJO's deletes and changes available dates almost daily so I would advise booking ASAP. Jeff - I'm really looking forward to "officially" meeting you - I took your picture at the end of the 1/2 last year so I could remember what your WISH shirt said I saw you and others during the race a bunch of times but my brain was mush and I needed the pic to remember!

Glad you are still lurking! I was meaning to bump this to keep the thread alive. You did it for me - thanks!

I can't wait to see Jeff again, too! We had to cancel going with our friend who ran the WDW Half this year because of my new job.

We are so excited to see everyone this year. I'm sure jeff will keep us all posted on the WISH meet, which happens every year. Hopefully they might consider doing it in conjunction with one of our activities, as I know some of the WISH folks don't do podcast stuff. I know we'd love to meet all of them, too!
