Who's been to Vero Beach?

Now I'm looking at my calenday wondering how to squeeze in a VB trip this year!lol I haven't even had my first stay at home yet (Feb 2006!). It sounds like a great change of pace from Disney. :teeth:

We own at VB & BW. We split up our vacation into 2 trips.
WDW over Christmas and VB over Presidents week.
Coming from the cold in NY Vero is just the ticket. We are making our 5 trip this year. DD 13 & DS 9 find lots of things to do and there is stuff for kids of all ages. Football pick up games start up all the time on the lawn in front of the entrance.
DW and I love the fact that now athe kids are older and we can sit on a lounge chair and read and soak up the sun. Can't wait to go back :Pinkbounc

Which airport is best to fly into for a trip to Vero Beach?

There are three choices -- Orlando (MCO); West Palm Beach (WPB) or Melbourne (MLB). Orlando has the most flights and you can usually get a better price for airfare. Drive is about 2 hours (your time may vary...).

We like to fly into Melbourne - we're lucky that Delta's schedule is pretty good for us - last time we did this it cost roughly $50 more per ticket, but we felt it was worth it. The drive is less than an hour and very easy. Melbourne is a very nice small airport. You walk out to your rental car and lines are few and far between. Downside -- not a huge number of flights and carriers..

We haven't tried West Palm Beach, mainly because the flight schedules just don't work well for us. I think it's about 80 miles from WPB to Vero, but I'm not sure.
