Who's been in October?

We have been a few times in October and have been fortunate with weather and crowds every time. It has been warm but not HOT... pleasant. The crowds were light - and we have been the first, second, and last week of October (different trips, of course). MNSSHP is a must for us, if we travel during this time. The only waits that I can think of were for the biggies, like the Mountains and Soarin'. Otherwise, ten minutes was a long wait. At the MNSSHP everything was walk-on, except the year we arrived and attended the party on Halloween. It was crowded that evening but not nearly as crowded as our May/June visits. You are going to have a great time! Enjoy!:wizard:

We live in North Alabama, and our fall break is Oct. 8-12. It seems like everyone I talk to is going to Disney for fall break. We went for the first week of January this year and I hope the crowds are not as bad as that!!

We go for a few weeks each October (6-21 this year) and absolutely love going that time of year. We've never found the weather to be bad although it really can vary...sometimes it's very pleasant but it can be suffocatingly hot and humid.

The crowds aren't as light as when we go in May or January but they're far from bad. A lot of the rides are walk-ons or have very short wait times and the others are what fastpasses are for. One tip we got from a CM that proved to be true was avoid Epcot on the weekends during the Food & Wine Festival as a lot of locals go for the festival and it gets pretty crowded.

We've only been to MNSSHP twice and had two vastly different experiences. When we went in 2005 the crowds were light and it was a great time. Last year it was unbelievably overcrowded and you couldn't even move. The rides that were walk-ons earlier in the day were all over 60 minute wait times. It was a Friday night later in the month so that may have had something to do with the difference. We're looking forward to going again this year and seeing what it's like as we're going on a Tuesday this year.

Be aware that an increasing number of school systems in the south are implementing a Fall Break in Oct. My son's school starts earlier (mid-Aug) and takes a week off in Oct at the end of the first grading period. They started doing this 5 yrs ago and we (and several other families at his school) take the opportunity to visit WDW during the week off.

We've visited WDW each of the 5 yrs during his Fall Break and have noticed the crowds getting larger each year as more school systems adopt the concept. Don't worry, the crowds are nowhere near as bad as they are in summer but most rides won't be walk-on either.

Hey Epscot were from Chattanooga what part of the state are you from. We have been doing fall breaks for about 5 years. Love it we did Disney last year in Oct and we thought it was great. Lines not bad, weather good. Going back Oct 2009

Michigan (well the west side) is also off Oct 17-19, so we moved our december trip to October so dd misses less school. I am expecting alot more families than our usual quiet December 10-17 trips. (2 girls outs her class of 20 are going, so I expect alot more people.)
