Who's afraid to throw up??

I'm really starting to realize how many people are petrified to throw up. I know I'm one of them, as well as celebrities Matt Laur and Denise Richards, anyone else like us??

Definitely me. I am so petrified of it that I managed to get through food poisoning without throwing up. I just won't let it out. I don't know if you want to say I can control it, but I just paced the room like an animal and just wouldn't let myself do it. I haven't thrown up since I was 8 years old and I am now 42.

I can even tell you what is okay to eat that won't taste bad the second time around (Red Delicious apples are my fave!).

According to Bill Engval *listened to him on the drive to Vegas* he was telling about his experience going in an F-16 at Nellis AFB in Vegas. He gets there for the training and they show him the stuff he will put on to fly and he notices these 2 "bags" on his thighs. Asks what they are for and the pilot tells him they are for when he pukes while pulling all the G force. So he asks the commander if he has any recommendations for what he should eat or not eat before going to the base. Commander tells him peanut butter. Bill asks why and he said "Cause it tastes the same coming up as it did going down"~! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

O.k., after I left my preivous post, I thought aww, I won't come back b/c its talking about throwing up.

How come I keep coming back to read new posts? I'm Psychologically making myself sick to a small degree. Any one else feel this way? -lol

I had a nasty stomach virus last week for 3 days I was so miserable and sick. I hate to puke....it's one of the things I hate the worst but I absolutely hands down hate it to come out of my nose. So I decided in my hours in vomitland to hold my hair back with one hand and plug my nose. It WORKED! LOL No puke came out of the nose and it didn't sting nor did I have to blow it afterwards!

:thumbsup2 I'll have to remember that the next time my kids get sick

Yeah, I think at a sub-conscious level you want to vomit. I'm here to help. All you have to do is ask. ;)

I don't like to throw up. It's a horrible sensation!

I'm actually petrified if someone else throws up around me. I can't hear it or see it. I get a severe panic attack and run. I can't even handle it when my kids throw up. I'm just terrified of the whole act all together. I guess its just the gruesomeness of it. Its so disgusting all together. Something traumatic happened to me when i was a kid.
Nice post huh ??

This same thing happens to me. :scared:

GF is afraid of throwing up--but is more afraid of others throwing up. I believe she's vomited on two occasions since I've known her. The first time she made me, her roommate, and her roommate's GF all leave the apartment; she couldn't deal with the idea that we would all hear her puke. The second time it was just she and I at my apartment. She let me stay, but she went to my roommate's bathroom at the back of the apt and closed all the doors along the way to try to mask the sound as much as possible. :lmao:

I've had two stomach viruses that involved puking since we've been together. And it is definitely much worse for her when I'm sick than when she is. She gets visibly nervous when I start thinking I might have to puke. The last time the virus hit while we were driving back from visiting my family (an 8.5 hour drive!). I asked her to drive because I was feeling really tired and my stomach was hurting. She got so nervous that every five seconds she'd ask, "Are you going to puke?" and "You'll warn me if you're going to puke so I can pull over and you can get out of the car first, right?" I just lied and kept saying "yes of course I'll warn you" even though I really had no idea if I'd have time. Luckily, I decided we should pull off at a hotel and I made it into the bathroom there.

I am afraid to throw up! Luckily, I don't do it a lot. Whenever I have the flu, I am actually willing myself to not throw up. Most of the time it works! I also absolutely cannot deal with vomit. My kids don't get sick a lot, but on the rare occassion that they do vomit, my DH has to clean it up. I work in an elementary school office, and it's the worst, when a kid comes in throwing up!

Ugh, I feel sick now...

O.k., looking at your NEW avatar .... not sure which one will do it for me the jawkitty or the fried chix head oxford

But my kitten is so sweet. Just look at her eyes... sooooo precious. :cat: Don't be a hater. :)

Oxford, I'm torn between the cute kitty's eyes and :scared1: of the lower half :rotfl2:

Hmmm. This thread could be a good one.:)
maybe it should be renamed the puke thread :scratchin:

Reading this thread actually makes me feel like I'm not such a freak. I never talk about my fear of vomit anymore as most people think I'm nuts. People say, just wait until you have kids. Well, now I can say that this is quite a common fear. I looked online and there are actually treatments for this kind of fear.

I wonder if anyone else has a telephone phobia. I'll start a new thread and find out.
