ORLANDO -- Burger King is coming to Universal's CityWalk in a big way with the first-ever Whopper Bar.

The Whopper Bar is opening in the spring.

According to the Orlando Business Journal, the new concept brings a more contemporary design and will feature a Whopper Topper area that will allow customers to customize their burgers.

I'm personally not interested in visiting it. But the reason it was issued as a news release is because it's the world's first Whopper Bar, a new concept that's planned to be opened in as many as 20 locations within the next 12 to 18 months, depending on how well this one succeeds. It's not a regular Burger King.

Damn! I was hoping this was going to be one huge bar or a bar with loads of selections. I'll take the Burger King Whopper bar I guess, but the alcohol bar would have been much more pleasing to my eyes after my 401K is down 36% for the year and it's been a long week at work...

Come on Mike--just have a look at that serving bar. A monster. Besides the lettuce and tomato, I'm thinking you can put on your own onions and perhaps even salt and pepper!!

I would expect this will be a popular concept, esp outside of a theme park, but in close range of the entrances.
After all, look at the HOOPLA(!) people make over the fixin's bar at Pecos Bill's. (I don't get it either. ) This BK bar should be a hit.
We have a chain that people are crazy over -- 5 Guys Burgers. Can't hardly get in the place and even harder time finding a spot to sit.

Well, that is because 5 Guys have one of the best chain burgers out there. A whopper is no comparison.

Their fries... eh... But the burgers are really good.

yeah, I opened this because I thought it was going to be a BAR with drinks, not a friggin cheeseburger.

5 Guys cajun fries rock! There's one in Dulles Airport. I usually take a bag of cajun fries on the plane.

Of all the rampant fast food progression around the world, Burger King bothers me the most. They seem to appear in the most inappropriate places, including the tiny village in the mountains where I once lived. They are at MUC airport directly in front of the main passenger exit, and at almost every single Autobahn rest stop in southern Germany.

While globalization is a reality, Burger King seems to be going about it in an extremely aggressive fashion with little regard for local customs and habits.

I find them out of place at CW as well, by the way.
