Whoo hoo -- Packers win!!!!

I find it really annoying around where I live how they make a huge deal out of the Philly teams (Eagles, Phillies, Flyers) when they are winning. Now they can all shut up!

Lol, that is why my DS is so happy the Packers won. He goes to college with many kids from "just outside Philly" (that's the phrase that's always used) and at least one of his roommates is absolutely rabid about them. DS can't stand it! So it will be quieter now.

I am glad GB won as well because I will never support any team of which Vick is a member. Sorry, no second chance here.

Well packers fans, I don't think the packers have a chance in Hades of winning it all and the Eagles have been looking really good. I'm not an Eagles fan either but I don't think the best team won-they were just the winner yesterday and that's how we get boring Super Bowls. I don't understand people rooting to have the better teams eliminated so their team can get ahead. Don't you WANT a real show at the end of the best two teams?

While I'm super glad GB won (don't like Vick), I do think the Eagles beat themselves. It was the two missed field goals that kept them from winning as well as the interception.

Now to see ATL beat GB! Go Matt Ryan!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Congrats Green Bay! :thumbsup2

I don't like Vick. Truly I am more disturbed by the attention he's getting from commentators and the like than him coming back to football. Let him play ball, but don't put the pig on a pedestal.

Okaaay, if it weren't for a couple of close games that the Packers blew early on in the season and all their injuries, they could've been 13-3 or 12-4. They nearly beat the Patriots ON THE ROAD without Aaron Rodgers as quarterback. Not to mention this was the second time they beat the Eagles on the road this year. I'm not saying the Packers will go all the way but maybe they're better than you seem to think they are.

The Eagles have been looking really good? Like in losing at home to the Vikings when they had a chance for a bye? They looked good for 8 minutes against the Giants, but that's about it for the last month.

The Falcons will be tough for the Packers, as they were when they beat the Pack on a last second FG in November. But, the Packers have a better chance against them than the Eagles.

The Packers had their share of mistakes too. Like the guy on the punt return team stepping on the ball on the first punt, the dropped pass by "stone hands" Jones at the end of the first half, and Rodgers' fumble that gave the Eagles their first TD.

I braved the elements in Philly yesterday to be at the game, and I agree with you about the Eagles beating themselves. Being able to see the entire field "live" is a lot different than watching at home. There was so much confusion on the Eagle's defense it was like they were playing together for the first time. :scared1:

I can count on my fingers how many times the Eagles defense was 100% set in place prior to the ball being snapped. I don't know if it was a Coaching thing, or the players just didn't have their heads in the game, but it was terrible on all levels.

Kudos to the Packers (who actually were preseason favorites to go to the Super Bowl), and kudos to the Packers' fans who somehow are able to go out in 10 degree wind chills week in, week out at Lambeau! Having to be outside at Lincoln Financial Field in that weather yesterday for just 1 game was almost too much to bear! :rotfl:

The Packer player that "stepped" on the ball was pushed into it by an eagle's defender. Even though that should have been obvious to the officials, eagles still got the ball.

The Eagles lost the game because they missed two field goals and played terribly.

ETA: No excuse for Jones. He should have caught that ball. If he would have, the Packers would have won by an even larger margin. :)

And I'm ecstatic Vick lost. Even if the Packers wouldn't have played the eagles, I would have been rooting for their opponent.

:thumbsup2 Couldn't have said it better myself!! This next game will be interesting -- both teams are so much alike. I think whoever gets the ball last will be the winner. Go Pack!!

GB/PHI/ATL...it doesn't matter. It'll be the Seahawks and whatever AFC team in February. (Okay, I know what the odds are, but been a member of the 12th man since day one, so it comes down to positive thinking :thumbsup2 )

I am an Eagles fan, but I will be rooting for the Packers the rest of the way, since my wife and son are Packers fans.

The Eagles will not win a Super Bowl with Andy Reid. it doesn't matter who the quarterback is. :sad2:

They Packer fans party for 2-3 hours before the game, tailgating. They put hand warmers in their boots/shoes, arms, legs, shoulders, backs. Once you get in the stadium, the wind doesn't blow to bad and it isn't real uncomfortable. I sat through a -10 degree game once, and I said, never again. But then again, it is impossible to even get a ticket to go to any Packer Game at home. We were offered the tickets way back in September, when my dh boss, knew he couldn't make the game.
