It's is embarrassing, but DH and I have been to disney like 2dozen times in the last 4 years, but we don't have kids yet so I'm a little ignorant of s e question my sister asked.... Maybe y'all can help?

Do the restaurants (QS or TS) in MK serve whole milk for a 1yr old? Can I get it at the baby center if not the restaurants?

Does MK have a playground for a 2.5yr old to run around? or only the circus splash area? I know dumbo's line has a play area... But you have to wait in line for that...

You can probably find whole milk at some of the TS resturants (some did and some did not). The QS ones do not have it.

However for the short time you are there not having whole milk won't hurt the little on according to our doctor. We had the same question when we went with a little one.

I don't remember seeing a lot of whole milk when we went (I had a 16 month old at the time). I just didn't worry about it and let him have whatever milk they had. No big deal for a few days. We did order some from garden grocer so he got it every morning.

As far as play areas, there is a very small one by splash mountain that he enjoyed, also both of my boys had a blast exploring Tom Sawyer Island. So that may be a good option too.

This question gets asked a lot on here about the whole milk. I never get why people are so concerned about it....for a week it won't hurt a kid to not have whole milk. Unless there is a growth/medical reason it really should be a non-issue. My kids were always HUGE so we never even did whole milk for them....started on 2% until 18 months, 1% until 2 and then skim (which is what my family buys). But they get 1% at school and 2% from my parents from time to time and it is no big deal.

They do have whole milk though at a lot of the counter services. I have seen it all over property though, so you just may need to ask for it but they typically do have it.

He's very tall for his age but a little underweight. My sister makes sure he has whole milk and full fat yogurt every day. She doesn't give either kid any sweets, so there are few things that give enough calories in a healthy way I guess? I don't have kids - so I may be all wrong

I haven't been there but there is a playground area at splash mountain. The one in new fantasy, and is fantastic but they will probably get very wet! We brought flip flops so the sneakers did not get wet and had a change of clothes which we used, as we had lunch at the castle right after and my daughter would have been cold and looked like a drowned rat :) middle august it's probably awesome and dries fast. You can let kids wander a bit in the rose garden area it is usually less crowded. Riding the people mover, even taking the monorail for a ride or to go to one of the resorts gives kids a good break. I am a big supporter of people letting the kids be free of lines, strollers and attractions to make their day easier and more fun. Little ones need to blow off steam and do their own thing.

I would agree with pp that Tom Sawyer's Island has a lot of space to run around and some climbing and more traditional playground ideas. I would make sure your sister knows where it is and how to get there. :goodvibes

It can be surprisingly difficult to find milk at all, much less whole milk. The carts don't have it, you have to find a CS or more of a free standing building/snack location. Most of those will have milk but not whole milk, but for one week an occasional 1% cup of milk won't make any difference.

I ordered whole milk from garden grocer so in the am/pm we had it available for sure.

Just an fyi, if you go to Epcot at opening there is no milk available on the Mission Space/TT side till the Electric Umbrella opens.

In September 2013 we got whole milk at Columbia harbor house. We were not buying a kid's meal but I did buy a carton there. We also bought some at the screen door general store on the boardwalk so I would think you should be able to find it in most of the stores attached to DVC properties.

I got it for my 2.5 year old because she wasn't eating or drinking much. She chugged that whole milk much better than the lower fat ones we had given her the couple days prior. We made sure we had it as often as possible until we left. That's why we bought the bigger container for our room.

FWIW I went in also not worried about which kind she had, but after watching her really finally eat and drink when we got her the milk she preferred, I made the stop at the store to get a larger container of it.

We took DD when she was 1 and still on whole milk. We ordered whole milk for the room so she got it there. It is difficult to find in the parks so I would suggest doing that. DD's doctor told us to try to get her whole milk if possible, but it really wasn't a big deal for her to have 1% or 2% at meals on vacation. That is what we did.

Some kids are really picky. My friend's kid won't drink anything but whole milk, but my DD never had that issue when she was drinking whole milk. I will say that we slowly transitioned her from whole to skim after she turned 2. A few months ago (she is now 3 1/2), we stopped at a restaurant and she wanted milk. All they had was whole, and she refused to drink it because it tasted bad.

As for playgrounds, there is the one by Splash, but it can be very crowded and is small. There is also the Storybook Circus area, but make sure she brings extra clothes because they will get wet. Obviously, the Dumbo area while waiting to ride Dumbo.

I'd suggest cheese instead of milk. It will sit better in a hot tummy and can travel pretty well in a cooler.

Also you don't have to wait in line to use the Dumbo playground AFAIK. You just go in they give you a pager and then he can play until either the pager buzzes or ignore the pager and just play.

We usually only found whole milk at our resorts food court and gift shop.

Besides the mentioned spots at MK, a new play area is being constructed at Epcot right now. Not sure on expected completion date though.

When i emailed them asking about soy milk availability last year, they emailed me a link to a pdf with availability. i think i have that in pms here somewhere. if i find it, i will pm it to you, op

ETA: nevermind...the list they sent me is dairy free only. That said, i ould email disney...they may send you something like what they sent me, but that is specifically for dairy

The swolphin has all types of milk and I *think* they have half gallons of all possibilities,

We found whole milk at the resorts and Casey's corner (MK), sunshine seasons (Epcot), and Starring Rolls (DHS). This was 2 years ago, but we are going next week and baby #2 will need some, so I will report back! FWIW, both kids do ok with just 1 or 2% if necessary.

I would check the Main Street bakery at the MK and the fountain view at Epcot since they are now Starbucks. Real world Starbucks has every kind of milk imaginable!
