Whole Foods

They are one of the only places to get dried fruit that doesn't have any added sugar.

We have one here but to be honest I prefer Trader Joe's. They aren't as big but are similar to Whole Foods in their healthy food choices and, at least here, the prices are much better.

I like the 365 store brand, most everything we have tried has been good. my kids especially like the cookies, they have 365 brand like Oreos and they are very good.
I mainly go there for things I can't find elsewhere, the bulk section is good too.
the nuts and dried fruits are just as good at Trader Joes for half the price.
we are lucky that the whole foods i go to has a trader joes in the same parking lot area, so i go to TJ's first, the hit WF for what I couldn't get at TJ's

also get their sale flyer, they do have good sales, and mambo sprouts online has good coupons for the types of things you will find at WH.

and the salad bar prepared food bar is great, but very pricey!

Ours now has a promotion where they give you $2 off per pound if you buy it between 2:00 - 4:00 or 8:00 - 10:00p.m. Not sure if this is nationwide, or just local.

One of my favorite places to shop!

Sushi and ALL their fish! Yum
Fruit Salsa - Smokey Guacamole
Goat Cheeses
Flat Breads - almond raisin
Lamb Burgers
Hot Spicy Pork Patties
The Deli and Pizza counter - roasted brussel sprouts and turkey breast
They make an apple pizza that is awesome

The cheese counter is the best!

Prepared tuna - three bean salad - couscous with fruit - bean burrito (black beans)

Gelato! yum. Flower bouquets - cheap and beautiful.

My husband loves their aged steaks.

I really like Whole Foods, but I agree with the Trader Joe's assessment. Ours literally just moved across the street from the Whole Foods.

One thing I really like about Whole foods is their bulk section. I especially like their variety of granolas. Cereal has gotten so expensive and I feel that you can get a very high quality of granola, not at a bargain price, but reasonable. It's also a good place to get natural feminine products.
Try to look for things you can't get anywhere else. We have a machine that grinds just peanuts into peanut butter. It was great, but the price jumped almost $1.00 per pound in about a weeks time. Their meat is a wnderful quality and I really don't mind paying for that on occassion. Ansd as mentioned, their salad/hot food bar is excellent.

Interestingly there is a youtube video about comparing Whole Foods prices with Trader Joe's that was promoted by my local Whole Foods. Look under "Baby Cuisine Cookbook:Price Comparison between Safeway, Trader Joe's and Whole Food Market." I'm surprised that the WF total for the items was $1.00 less than the same products at TJ's. That has not been my experience, even though its a great store.

Love their homemade pizza's ..chicken pot pies...peanut butter/choc chunk cookies...chicken curry salad....leek and brie quiche ..wow...so much!!:confused3

I combine Trader Joes and Whole Foods; they are a few blocks from each other so it makes shopping easy. I go every other week so lots of what we eat is organic, free of genetic modification and pretty healthy. We do eat some stuff that doesn't fit into those categories but we CAN because we are so careful otherwise. I have friends who buy their groceries solely from whole Foods or Trader Joes. The more I shop there, the more I incorporate their stuff into our life. It's taken me a while to be able to walk past all the expensive prepared foods, lol! It's all very good!

fresh prepared guacomole
fresh fruit & veggies!

I agree with the previous poster about it being the Disney World of supermarkets! I also skip through smiling and end up in shock at the register. I frequent Trader Joes, and occasionally go to WF for a treat.

I love Whole paycheck! Just got one within walking distance (2 blocks) I can just hear my house value rising now because of it. They have really good everything it seems.

Their chicken pot pie from where the hot bar (not the serve yourself, you have to order from behind the counter). They don't have it all the time though, you just gotta get lucky! I also like their pita chips & four cheese pizza.

Just like at any grocery store - shop the perimeter. The stuff in cardboard boxes is just processed food - better than the grocery store but not really worth the extra money in many cases. The fresh stuff is just fabulous.

Well it certainly is Whole Paycheck! My boyfriend has the patience of a pregnant gnat, so about 15 minutes of shopping he started whining! We had a very nice lunch though. It is an awesome store, just too expensive right now. We'll stick to Trader Joe's for now!
