Who would steal a camera?

Just wondering if you know anybody that would actually lift a camera? (I promise I will let it go after this rant).:sad1:

We just got back last night. After carrying my camera around all week on my neck (once in a while on my arm) during our last park day on Thursday at AK I lost it. I think we must've been at the bird walk in the Maharajeh Trek.

Just bummed and the heck with the camera I would just love the memory card back! Had the video of when we surprised the kids on the way to the airport with my Mom. They thought we were going apple picking! It also has ALL the other candid pics, etc. Waa waa.

We have our memories and some photopass.

I personally don't know anybody in my life that wouldn't turn a camera in. Do you?

Sorry if this seems trivial to some... Thank goodness I don't have anything really serious in my life to whine/be upset about... if this is the worst I suppose I am pretty lucky eh?

Thank you some much for listening. Other than this it was a magical trip!

Margaret

I'm sorry to hear about your camera. I can't say it surprises me though, I myself have had things I've accidentally lost at Disney never returned, and my friend once forgot a bag in a bathroom at Disney for 5 minutes, and it was gone by the time he got back, and never turned in. I'm sure someone just wanted a camera and could care less about the memories a person has on it. Not everyone in the world is honest and decent. Maybe it's mean to think this way, but I'd like to think that one day, those people will lose something special or important to them, and when it isn't returned, they'll learn a valuable lesson.

That really sucks. I'm sorry you lost your camera. There are many out there that see something as an opportunity for "how much can I get for this?" My camera is my life. I would be bummed as well.

Did you contact customer service there? Believe it or not, we left a sweater & some books in the resort room and they returned it to us. They called us & said if we could identify them they would send them back to us. Now your situation is a bit different, but there are honest people out there!!

Thanks...good to know I am not alone.

I do have a report in with Lost and Found and I've been calling. They said sometimes it takes a few days to make its way there.

Now the crazy in me wants to ask if a memory card has been turned in!!!:confused3

Oh that must feel so horrible..! I've lost photos for different reasons (like a hard drive crash) and it's heartbreaking....

I would certainly follow-up with WDW on the camera. I understand that they keep lost and found items at each park for one day, then they move them to a centralized Lost and Found location. You should try to track that down....

Another option is to check-out some of the web sites that are for lost cameras. It could take some time, but perhaps your photos could show up there. Just google "lost camera" and some web site will come up... the one I've heard of was ifoundyourcamera.net (this has been reported on by abc news) and there are a few others...

Good Luck!!! :grouphug:

It can take from 3-12 business days for WDW to track down Lost and Found items. Your camera may still show up soon!

Sorry about the theft Margret,
isn't it frustrating  I had some one steal my purse at a kids play. I didn't have any money or credit card in it but I did have my brand new makeup. I wanted that back more than any thing.

People really can disappoint some times. :sad1:

I would be devastated if this happened to me. I hope it turns up. Did you have your name on your camera and/or your memory card?

My sons girlfriend found a camera someone had left at Turtle Talk with Crush recently and the first thing I told them to do was go thru the photos and see if they took a pic of their info, name, hotel, phone number, they didnt but it just happens that right before we took it back to the cm outside crush a women came back looking for it and jsut a day earlier we found a fanny pack in the bushes along the pathway at POP and it and a photopass card and some phone numbers so so called it and found the person it belonged to and they came outside and picked it up. I know how crushed I would be if we had lost our camera with all of our photos on it so glad we able to help someone out.

One visit a couple years ago my mind was obviously somewhere else and I kept putting things down. One day I left my camera bag with digital camera and movie camera in it on the monorail. It was turned into Lost & Found. That year I felt like I was on first name basis with the people in Lost & Found. Keep checking back.
