Who will be first Magic, Wonder, Dream or Fantasy?

Sailing this year is probably out of the question. But, I would think the DREAM would be first unless they all changed their itineraries to just Castaway Cay/Bahamas. I would take a cruise to just CC. They could sail there and let the Dream have 1/2 days, Fantasy 2/3 days, and Magic and Wonder have 2 days each. The schedule could easily work out on 3-7 night cruises. They probably would need to make the Fantasy 5 nights in length (same for Magic and Wonder.

There would never need to be 2 ships at Castaway Cay at the same time. 3 night cruise Dream: all day Monday, 5 night cruise Fantasy: Tuesday and Wednesday, 5 night cruise Wonder: Thursday and Friday, and 5 night cruise Magic: Saturday and Sunday

They could do this until the restrictions to other ports are lifted.

With the late arrival in Europe of the Wonder for what ever work is planned, her return to U.S. waters may not be until possibly late November or early to mid-December. Couple that with the fact normally she would be sailing out of Galveston until early Feb when she would relocate to New Orleans, and the scheduled WBPC on Feb 26th, it's probably not likely the Wonder would be the first ship to resume revenue operations.

I have already briefly stated my opinion, but I believe the Dream will return first because of two reasons.

1. The amount of verandah staterooms on the ship
2. The fact that the Dream already does 3 and 4 night sailings. No need to modify schedules, only modification would be if they would take out Nassau or not.

I picked the Dream because they are likely to pick one of the bigger ships to allow more room to spread out, have a higher revenue per sailing because of being able to have more passengers on board (even with the lowered capacity percentage), and of course the fact that it's primarily short sailings to a single friendly country.

Yes it would be cool, I would jump on a 3 nighter that just went to CC. But if the Bahamas is going to open for anything, they want the money and CC only won't provide that

If things don't start to improve here I can see them leaving the Magic over there to start with Med Sailings. I don't want this to happen since we are booked on the transatlantic but I'm not all that hopeful.

If DCL is really interested in customer safety, they'll use the smaller ships first because that means that with reduced capacity there will be fewer people total, so lower risk that some will have an undetected infection (just testing negative at the port does not mean you won't become positive/contagious the next day). Also, with fewer people come lower crowds on the pool deck, kids club etc.

But I expect when Disney resumes sailing they will want bigger ships with more customers to earn more revenue per sailing, so I think it'll be the Dream because the shorter itineraries make it less likely that there will be a detected outbreak on board (I still think there will be outbreaks, just undetected because it takes 5-7 days to become symptomatic after exposure), and because the Fantasy visits more foreign ports that might be restricted.

I had that same thought this morning! What if they move the Magic back to Dover after she is done in Brest so that she is already in Europe for next summer...

I was also thinking this... I'm hoping that they January-May Magic itineraries are considered "worth it" for sending the Magic Back over. I know they don't want to rush things, but I'm sure that after so long having money flowing out, they're probably anxious to have money start flowing back towards them again. The Transatlantic was sold out, so hopefully that one is lucrative enough for them to really want it to sail.

We're booked on the 1/9 MDAS on the Magic, and then the EBTA, so I'll feel a lot better once I see the Magic heading back across (and the sooner the better!)

I voted Magic and Wonder. I think they will start with the smaller ships, because I think their cost of operating those two ships is lower, so if something gets off track, they will have cut their losses.

Actually the operating cost of the classic ships is apparently much higher than that of the newer ships. Or so I was told by the Chief of Engineering on the Wonder last March.

She just got to Brest a couple of days ago. She's headed for Dover to drop some CMs for travel connections, and to pick up some others. Then she returns to Brest.
