Who will be at UO 2/7-2/10?

Aloha,
As you know, I will be returning to Universal 2/7-2/10. My cyber buddy, ReneeNH and I are sharing a room at HRH. Barry is setting up meets.
Who all will be at UO during this time? I plan to share some aloha with you all and I need an approximate headcount.

I know you don't know me, I've been reading the boards a while now but only recently started posting. We are planning on staying a the HRH 2/7 thru 2/11 including my daughter's birthday on the 8th. If any of your meets and greets can include kids we'd love to say aloha to ya!

BTW- for those looking for Mardi Gras info I got a Mardi Gras Hotline number in my last passholder newsletter, I called and I think the info is for anyone not just passholders- (407)224-5500

Also on that hotline is information that if you are a fire. police. rescue worker or military you can hit a number on the voiceprompt to be able to march in the parade- way cool huh?

MIB999999 will be there 2/9 for the whole day. May be joined by wife and her friend for Mardi Gras depending on entertainer. I have a plan for beads!!!!

The wife, our two sons(4&11), and myself will be there in full 'Griswold' attire from the 8th thru the 14th at HRH. Looking forward to this as I was a real party pooper the last 2 years when many gathered.

Last year when we stayed at HRH, the lot between the hotel and the old HRC was the place we parked all the time as it always seemed to have a spot. Is that still the case or is that one filling up more often these days?

Also, is the weather typically in the low to mid 70's 2nd week in February down there? Last year we were there a month later, so just wondering.

Foyboy: we went to WDW a few years ago during the first week of Feb. Several days were low-mid 60's (1day rainy)) and 2 days were low 80's! We all brought fleece jackets and dressed in layers. They were warm but light in the suitcases. It could've been worse, the week before temps were in the 30!

Hopefully next month will be warm, warm, warm !!!

I have a few loose ends to take care of elsewhere (updating "The Other Orlando"), but otherwise I plan to spend most of my time at UO.

Okay okay I spoke too soon and waited too long to make ressies...


We will indeed be attending but we just don't drink enough soda to make a club level room @299 per night worthwhile... Guess we'll have to endure a suite at the Holiday Inn @89 per night and save the extra 800 or so bucks for another trip lol.

I guess I got spoiled in the last few months getting ressies at the last minute @ great resident rates. So now I've learned my lesson and will be a girl good and use my entertainment card and book in advance...reality hits hard!

With apologies to Humphrey Bogart I guess all I can say is
"we'll always have Mythos"

Wow, this is going to be a terrific trip. I am so happy I am going to be able to meet so many of you.

Now I have to decide whether to bring my two books for Kelly to autograph - considering I have to transport my own bags all by myself (Husbands are good for something when traveling )I now have to consider how much the bags weigh. Ain't life hard??lol

It seems a number of us are staying at the HRH, maybe we should have a nightime pool meet...I only meet people in a swimsuit when it is dark out.

It seems to be warming up, thank you Floridians.

Hi Suzysezo,

Did you try for an annual pass rate? Only 1 person has to get one, you can get the slightly lesser expensive seasonal pass(it has some blackout dates) and an ap offers discouts of 10-20% off meals and merchandise in the parks. Even some store at Citywalk.

Don't mean to sound like a commercial. I just want to make sure you checked all possibilities!

Thanks for the sugesstion- The passholder rate is the first thing I ask about as all 3 of us have the annual passes (and yes I agree the passes are well worth it!), then I ask for Florida resident and Entertainment, but as of this morning I was told that promotional rates of any kind are booked up.
The best they could do for me was 209 for my first and last night, 299 for the middle 2 nights, I forgot if this was club level or garden view, but in any case too close to rack rate for me. Portofino was slightly less, but all in all I don't think I'll suffer all that much at the Holiday Inn. It's just across the street, and while I'll miss my beloved boat ride, I have a disabilty parking permit so I get the good parking spots in the garage lol.
Also having my disabled son along keeps me from a lot of the extra curricular stuff anyway, and as I said before it may be for the best since I can then afford a HRH stay at a later date.
It's all good...especially at USO/IOA
