Someone at UPS telling them my displeasure that for 2 days in a row, the UPS delivery person did not leave behind a slip for me, even though the tracking says he arrived and no one was there to sign.

My friend and classmate Beth. We talked yesterday evening about an assignment in one of our classes. We're on a quarter system and we're at the end of the summer quarter, so finals are this week. All the huge assignments are also due now...ugh! That's why I've been a bit scarce on the boards the past week or so, and why I better get myself off here soon and get busy. Luckily, after this week, things will settle down for a little while and I can catch up on my DIS time and planning our December trip.

I tried to call the White House about that black helicopter that follows me around, but they would not take my call.

My bro in FL. His GF and most of the kids loaded up Thursday night and went to her mom's in North Carolina. His ex and 3 kids are in a shelter. He is sticking it out. He bought himself and his boss (with the boss' business CC ) a couple of chainsaws, gas cans, oil and extra blades early in the week. He's in construction so they figured not only would they need them at their own houses but also at their job sites. He has a generator from work since it's pretty much a given the power will go out. His truck is loaded with food, clothes, dirtbike and first aid kit in case he does decide to leave. When we hung up last night he had just turned on the hottub and poured a glass of wine so as to enjoy the peace and quiet (as in no teenage daughters overreacting over all the noises).

My wife. She's in St Louis visiting family. I couldn't go because I'm on call here in lovely Omaha.

Being alone is great for about two hours because I have my run of the house, which means I get to watch what I want on TV. But after that, I start counting the hours until she gets back.
