Just checking to see if anyone on the disboards was on the bus with us that got lost from MGM to POR 11/27. It took a little over an hour for us to get back to the resort! :wave2:

OMG that must have been terrible. Was anything said to the people on the bus...

Please tell me this is a joke. Please tell me you are kidding. If I can read the signs at Disney, anyone can. It's impossible to get lost at Disney. An hour?
What did they tell all of you on the bus???

There have been other threads about bus drivers getting lost. One even left WDW property and pulled into a fast food place to ask directions.

I'm so glad I rent a car and drive myself. the signs are so easy to follow and they remind you about 3 times that your turn is coming! Even a caveman could do it. :rotfl:

No, this is no joke. I believe the driver said that this was his first night. I felt so sorry for him. On top of that, it was soooooo hot and he said he couldn't turn the air on since the controls were in the back of the bus. :confused3 He apologized quite a few times and then said that he would appreciate any help. Most people were fine and understanding. I have no idea where all we went, but I don't think we were in Disney part of the time. But it all turned out fine. Bless his heart. :grouphug:

A few years ago, I approached the same intersection three nights in a row. I read the same sign each night - "Downtown Disney Next Left". I got lost three nights in a row, three different ways. After the first night, I kept trying to interpret Disney's definition of "next left" in a different way, since the first - and then the second - didn't work. I found out later, that "next left" is a Cast Member road, and Disney doesn't/didn't take it into consideration when posting the sign from hell :teeth:

Oh, and you better hope no caveman reads your post ;)

I'm actually glad to hear this happens to people staying somewhere other than OKW...I got on buses at MK on two separate trips and the driver forgot they were supposed to go to OKW. The first one took the bus to Port Orleans, the second to Coronado Springs.

I am highly offended by this post.

I sure hope you are not going to bop us over the head with your club Caveman! :wave2:

I can get lost almost everywhere but even I can find my way from MGM to POR. You take a right at the turn on Buena Vista and then a left the DVC Pagoda and then another right into the resort after Riverside.

Of course that is supposing that the poor bus driver was allowed to go the direct route and it seems as if they seldom are. :dance3:

On our last trip we saw non Disney buses picking up people. I was a bit scared of getting on the first one. I have read far too many mystery novels on kidnapping etc. :rotfl2:

See what I mean? Blatant stereotyping. It might interest you to know that the only clubs I have are for golf.

Golf clubs are just clubs that have evolved. :thumbsup2

BTW, my best friend is a caveman. :rotfl2:

Slightly Goofy who respects all, especially cavemen with big clubs and who first discovered that meat tastes better when burned with fire. Yumm!! :cool1:

I believe we call that "chateaubriand"

I was on a bus that got lost between the MK and POP. We ended up driving over near the Wide World of Sports and then towards Animal Kingdom. We ended up on a tour of 192. The bus ride back took more than an hour. Of course, that was the day that we were going to the GF for my DD's birthday party and we had to be there by 7:00. We left the MK with enough time to relax and change and barely had enough time to change. We insisted that POP give us a ride to the GF so we could be there in time.

I'm so sorry this happened to you...we've been there too! A bus from DTD to WL took an hour and twenty minutes. Everything seemed fine at first. We made it almost all the way back, the driver dropped off the FW people but then something went wrong somewhere. He just kept going in circles through Fort Wilderness. Then, once we made it out, the next thing we saw was Spaceship Earth! Then we proceeded to circle it too. There were a couple of rather tipsy adults that were making fun of him rather loudly. He just ignored it and kept circling. You could tell the bus driver was getting angry. He pretty much lost all sympathy from everyone else when he refused to listen to the people that were trying to help him. We did manage to make our way back to WL, although I'm not sure how. The whole situation was pretty frustrating especially with a bus load of people.

We ended up getting that driver twice more, and although we didn't get lost again, it sure took a long time to get to our destinations. At first we chalked it up to him being new, but he never smiled or said two words to anyone anytime we had him. He just had this permanent scowl on his face. Then we thought maybe he had a hearing problem and couldn't hear the people trying to help him (by the way he ignored everyone, you'd think that was the case). Guess we'll never know.

no - but I generally am questioning where the heck we are going. So they stop and turn around before they get to lose.

have bus drivers go to OKW from epcot thru MK .

have them go from SSR to Epcot thur DD?

only once do a bus driver get away and boy I was so sick. She decided to go back to the MK when she only let off half of her passengers.

these are new bus drivers - they don't know WDW at all. they only have 2 days to learn all the routes plus pass the commerical license.

If I hadn't been going to WDW since 1972 - there is no way I could learn all the stops plus learn to drive a bus and get my commerical license in that short of time.

lots of the older bus drivers are retiring.... lucky dogs!!! oh one day....

Oh it's easy to drive one of these

Let's see, seat and mirror adusted and ready to go. Hmm there's the shift selector. Put it in D for drive. Not bad handling, nice. Oh Oh that guy behind me wants to pass and is going fast. No way is he passing me. Let's see, yes that will do it select R for race. ^(%#&()_)R%%crunch. Won't use that again. Have to get another bus.

Ok, D for drive and here we go. Everything ok..... Darn that guy in front of me is crawling and I have to stay on schedule. Let's see that's it, P for pass.
YIIIIKEES!!! HEEEEELP!!!!!
