That's what I had been counting on, Flametamr. My thoughts were just like yours. Oh well, not no more...

Well I ran into a good news/bad news situation today.
Bad News: Gulf State Park is freakin' full this coming weekend (500 sites). I called down there today to reserve a site for the weekend thinking "Hey, it's February - it won't be busy". Boy was I wrong. I know the snow birds are allotted over 400 sites (money maker for Gulf) but I thought I would snag one of the remaining 100 sites. The lady who was unlucky enough to get my call told me many snow birds have family/friends come to visit them at Gulf and they are NEARLY FULL from now till end of March (when monthly snow bird rates expire).
Good News: I'm still going to Gulf Shores this weekend but staying someplace else in my Aliner. One page 1 of this thread WestBeachBum our poster mentioned Gulf Breeze RV Resort where he summers. Well I got the last freakin' spot for this weekend at Gulf Breeze (it's just north of the Intracoastal Waterway on Hwy 59) but at least I am in. They supposedly have good wifi.
So I am taking a day's vacation, getting down to Gulf Shores around noon on Friday, and will go from there. Weather looks very nice for February (sunny, 60s/40s) with low winds.
I am a little disappointed but looking forward to trying a new place.

PS - Been going to Gulf Shores for nearly 40 years so any time I am there it's good.
We love Gulf Breeze. The wifi is slow though, but all I do is connect to it with my iPad to check my email. The bath houses are kept clean. We'll be riding through Sunday afternoon scouting spots for this spring. Maybe we'll run into you. If you have any questions I will be happy to help. We are only 30 minutes away. The Seafood Festival at the Wharf is Saturday. You should go check it out.
