A little off topic but in case anyone is interested. We have set up for our annual Mardi Gras camping season at RV City. We are downtown Mobile AL under the I-10 bridge. If anyone is in the area come on by and enjoy the parades and party.

Seen on the news this might be the last year for RV City, AL DOT is planning on starting that new bridge over the Mobile River. We have some friends in the Condés, we might make by there some time, I'll have to talk to the DW.

The first parade is Jan 22nd, And the last is Feb 9th Fat Tuesday. The big party is Joe Cain Sunday Feb 7th. I parade with the Order of Incas on Friday Jan 29th. There are parades most nights. I don't know the exact dates, but Mardi Gras started yesterday on Dauphin Island and goes into mid February I think? Some friends of mind had their camper on the Island this weekend for the parade, it just just a big party.

The parades on the Island are always earlier than the ones downtown.

Yes Randy we are loosing our camping area eventually if they work out the bridge funding. The people that manage it said this is their last year so we don't know after this year if or where we'll be. May just have to take a couple of years off. You are always welcome at our place. We usually have food drinks and a warm fire. Also clean and sanitary porta johns.

Back on page 2 or 3, I think Ed and Tiggerdad were arranging entertainment. Something about alligator wrestling and an Elvis suite. Or maybe I misread that.

With all the various arrival dates, I may have to see if my AA can coordinate this. Event planning is beyond my pay grade.

If I recall correctly:

Randy is wading into the lake and wrestling an alligator. In the event the gator does not show (out of fear), then Ed has volunteered to put on a gator costume (although, be it a crimson colored one). If Randy is actually wrestling a real gator then my money is on him, if Ed dresses up then all bets are off.

Flametamr is going to do some beach flame dancing for us though he did have an odd request that he be allowed to use moonshine instead of petroleum to light the sticks. Should be interesting...

I have volunteered to dress up as Elvis and play the drums, though Ed requested a 3 hour advance notice so he could "prepare" himself with the assistance of Jack Daniels. I agreed to provide this warning only if I was also provided a bottle of Jack 3 hours prior to the beginning of the show.

Bishoparc sent me a PM last night asking for an open evening as he was volunteering to do some belly dancing on the roof of the check-in building.

Dmaxphil, heading on to the Fort after his brief stay in GSP, didn't want to be injured or jailed, so he agreed to provide all the previously mentioned Jack Daniels.

Teamubr, of course, being the great guy that he is with all the money he had left over from the new 5er, has volunteered to bail each of us out of jail.

Provided of course that GSP hasn't already been reading this thread and planning to pull the plug on us...

Wish I would be allowed to be a vegetable. My wife and girls want to constantly be on the move. I have convinced my wife to settle for one day for all the shopping that I know she is planning.

I am planning to go to Dauphin Island at least one day and tour the fort there. If any of you are interested in that kind of thing maybe we can line up a day for us all to go over. I like Ed's idea of leaving the cars/trucks at the ferry landing and go by foot on the ferry.
