my dining ressies are still up in the air. the repeats especially. i'm still working on them. but that's a good sense of the places i'll likely end up at some point or another. i LOVE fireworks more than most things at disney, so any opportunity to see them from cali grill i will keep an option until i can pull myself away with something else

anyone? anyone? bueller?

awe. I'm not arriving until Jan 7th so I can't help ya. Hopefully someone else is going solo. Otherwise enjoy yourself. This is my first trip that I might have 2 mornings in the parks all by myself and I'm pretty excited about them!

Maybe if you list which days are park days for you and which parks you plan to visit, that would help people figure out if you are going to be together at all.

Also, what kind of rides do you like? Thrill? Shows? Quiet?

Can you add anything else?

who remotely in their right mind would take your offer, a perfect stranger

Um... there's 50,000 similar perfect strangers at the MK. You'll stand by thousands of them throughout the course of your day. Nothing wrong w hanging out w or talking to one in particular! Common sense prevails, if they offer to carry your wallet, politely decline.

not everyone is terrified of their own shadow. standing in line next to someone you've met and can chat with seems preferred to standing next to total strangers. you might even make a friend. you ride rides at disney with strangers next to you, she's just offering to hang out and take that space. i'd totally hang out with her if our dates were aligned. she likes pumpkin spiced lattes, which means she at least likes starbucks and we could high five each other over maple creme brulees.

I would - a little common sense goes a long way! OP, I'll be there a few of those days - please post your park plans and we'll see if anything lines up! I am also a Starbucks junkie, we might be able to grab a latte together.

My family would.

Heck I stand next to complete strangers all the time, at Disney. What's one more?

Would I tour the entire day with a stranger? Probably not. But only because not everyone tours the same way. Oh, and because I don't like coffee. Yuck.

I totes would...how else would first time Dis Meets happen? I most likely wouldn't be an all day person though either as I tour differently

:lmao: true, but:

I've made my family's touring strategy based on months of planning and involving the whole family in the "what do we want to do during our family Christmas trip" discussion. We realize this will be a different sort of WDW trip due to the holiday crowds :crowded: and holiday atmosphere :santa::grouphug::santa: but I worry that you wouldn't want to do "our plan" without wanting to alter it some for you. Not that that's unreasonable for you, but it's not what I want to do with my family, so I can't just say, "Why not."
If you published your intended park days and FP+s then we (and other travelers) might find some portions of "matching" touring plans and meet-ups here and there would become an option. Anyhow, that's just my perspective...

Good for you! I hope you meet some wonderful people. Someone had a good suggestion about what Parks on what days. You also would post over at the single and couples board. As for being scared to meet others -- I sure wouldn't worry. Many years I've put together groups to rent firework cruises through these boards and always had wonderful travel companions and everyone has shown up and brought the amount of $$ they were supposed to. And many singles have participated.

I think you're great to go it alone for 10+ and wish I could join you. We are a couple in our mid-50's and we always find folks to hang with at Disney standing in line so that shouldn't be a problem. I would suggest having dinner at some places were you can meet others -- example, at Jiko there is open kitchen and you can sit and watch the chefs -- we've meet many great people sitting there. I understand the same is true at the Flying Fish. Inside the parks you could also go to the restaurant in Japan where they sit you with other folks. At HS I understand that Brown Derby has a spot outside now.

Put on smile and enjoy your trip! I'm sure you'll have a marvelous time!

First, I've met up with several DISers by arrangements made here, while on WDW vacations and made long term friends that way. Second, I met a pleasant guy on the ski lift at Elk Mtn in Northeast Pa, had a nice chat, and he turned out to be a murderer.

Oh, I didn't really mean to kill the guy,
but he just kept standing there talking about how he was going to use two days on a 5-day base ticket
to visit two different theme parks in the same day...
it's like he was ASKING for it!

Definitely justifiable homicide. ;)

I've met some Dis-ers at WDW and it was quite enjoyable. I'm not at the parks during OP's dates, but would be pleased to hang out for a couple of rides, maybe a cream cheese pretzel. Those of us hangin' out here for a period of time have quite a bit in common y'know. :earsboy:

very good point that i should have put parks and plans in the first post. updating now! looking forward to seeing some of you! :)

Any of the criticisms of D I now have aside, one of my most memorable trips was back when I did my undergrad . I had kicked a boyfriend to the curb right before a trip(he had too many outside activities I had found out about
:rolleyes1 ) and I wasn't letting the tickets and reservations which I had wisely had control over go to waste. It was a blast. I went where I wanted, did what I chose to do when I chose to do it and had so much fun. Im sure you'll love it !!!
