DETENTIONS
Clarification of D1, D2, D3
D1 is given by class teacher for:
Classroom management issues - disruption
Work not completed
Lack of equipment
This detention would take place during lunchtime or after school for 15 minutes and would be supervised by the teacher who gave the detention.
D2 is given by the class teacher (or tutor) for:
Continued classroom (or tutor room) disruption
Continued incomplete work
Continued lack of equipment
This detention would take place after school for one hour and would be supervised by the Head of House or Head of Department. Students to be given 24 hours notice. Heads of Department to keep a record of all D2s and to notify Liz Bromwich each Friday so that the D2 can be recorded. Heads of Department may choose to conduct departmental D2 detentions or roster teachers from their departments on a weekly basis to share the load.
D3 is given by any member of staff for:
Uniform infringement
Excessive makeup
Chewing gum
Continued class disruption
Truancy
Senior students who do not sign in at school
Year 7 10 girls who leave the premises at any time during the day including before the bell in the morning without formal permission
Year 11 girls who leave the premises prior to the end of Period 4
Year 12 girls who leave the premises without signing out
Not bringing their laptop to class
This detention would take place after school on Fridays and would be supervised by the Deputy Principal Student Management, Head of Senior College or Head of Middle School. Records to be kept of all D3s.
Students caught smoking must be sent directly to the Deputy Principal Student Management
Lateness
No student is to be accepted into class after the specified start time of the lesson unless their diary has been stamped by student office to explain the reason for lateness.
Evening Study Centre
The Evening Study Centre is a privilege and is not to be used for administering detentions.
