I'm Always chewing gum and i wear extra Bright eyshadow like everyday.
and i never follow the dress code.

I think some of those rules have backwards consequences. Detention? For gum? The teachers at our school just ask us to spit it out into the garbage.

We get a DT2 for chewing gum and a $10 fine. DT2 is a twenty minute detention.
I chew it anyways...if I get caught I could care less. Got caught once, never served the detention or paid the fine.

we can chew gum if we want too. our teachers dont care.
My friend had to do a gym make up and never did it, so she got a detention. She never served it, So she got another one. and guess what? she never served it.

Gum is actually encouraged in our schools.... they used to ban it because of the mess, but some study showed that you think better when chewing. Sounds silly to me, but whatever.

My district is out with a new attendance policy.
Miss 5 classes (even EXCUSED absences) and you get a call home.
This will certainly happen to me as I often have ortho appointments first period, and it just can't be done outside of school hours. And I'm sick of my school trying to be the best freaking school in North America.
For every class missed you mark goes down two percent! Please be quiet, I missed english about, 6 times and my mark never went down..
My parents don't need to listen to the attendance commitee go on about attendance..
After 10 missed, you have to have a meeting. Go on vacation? And are sick for two days? That's enough to warrant a meeting. Which is a waste of time, especially on the parents part seen as nothing is wrong, they just went on vacation... that's all.
I don' tmind the rule, it's jsut that it's excused absences too.

Many school do this for any missed classes now adays...
My mom got a phone call from my school 2 days ago because I was 10 minutes late to class while finishing my french final...

Skirt shorter than knee (This isnt actually imposed unless 3 inches above knee)
Socks the right lentgh. meaning not too short, not too long.
Top button done up (for senior college and junior and middle with the old dresses)
Tie done up right.. you know like tight (for senior)
shoes polished (theres a shoe diagram you have to follow exactly)
hat on at all times
Dont wear sweater off schoolk grounds without blazer on top
blazer must be worn in winter months
and um.. theres a whole bunch opf other ones.. but i cxant remember so ill check my diary and post them later.

That is crazy stuff! (bolded are the ones I found extraordinary) And I thought getting 2.5 hours after school for throwing a cheesestick in the cafeteria was tough!

Excessive makeup? I'm guessing there are no emo/scene/goth kids at your school?

Not bringing laptops? Very few kids at my school even own laptops, and we definitely don't bring them to school.

ANd we dont get many scene, emo or goth kids in aus.. much.
It used to be no makeup. so we all looked all creepy. But now we can use stuff and its like, HALLELUJAH!

And after paying an exxy laptop fee they give them to us.
We even do some tests on them.

Some chicky was fixing my teeth.
My mother knows that.
She took me there.
She knows I wasn't at school. My parents are never home during the day anyways to answer the phone, and they just laugh when they get the Hilary missed: period ____ on the answering machine.
