Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?

I would really like to know what techinique you used in answering questions. Did you press the button once or many times fast or ? The last time we were there I know I answered every question correctly and I thought rather quickly and I never made it on the list!

If you listen to the people around you one can hear many people hitting the buttons over and over. Does that help? Someone else said you should wait until all the answers are there and then answer once. Others say answer as soon as the lights work. And others just hit any button as fast and as many times as they can. What did you do?

Well, let me tell you....

I was lucky enough to get in the hotseat our last time out. I got the fastest finger question right, but not fast enough. I hit the button repeatedly when I know the answer, until it lights up and my answer is registered. I think my stroke of luck came when the question was concerning groundhog day. The girl in the hotseat was from England and had no idea. The complete stranger gave her the wrong answer (which even the audience thought was right!) I knew the answer and it vaulted me up the ladder and into the hotseat! I was lucky enough to get to the 125,000 point question, which I missed. I did come home with the pins, hat and golf shirt.

In short, get them right and get them right fast

We've been to Millionaire during two very differnet crowds (late September = almost empty and just before Thanksgiving = totally full) and have tried both methods.

I have to say, the better method by far is the press like heck from the moment you know the answer! We tried both ways during the super corwded times and the only way we were in the top 10 was the press like heck before the last answer. DH made it into hotseat doing other method in September.

Also, if it's super crowded. Give up trying to answer the first question right - random punching is the way to go.....people in the hot seat always had about .5 seconds as their time....

Our family has been in the hotseat a number of times and the trick is definately is punching the the button as fast and as many times as you can as soon as you know the answer. Don't wait for the button to light up either (they instruct you to do this)...

Yes, another vote for the press like heck and don't wait for the lights - that has gotten me into the Hot Seat 4 times and on the list many more. I think of this method as "vote early and vote often".
