I'm so excited to play WWTBAM this December. Can anybody remember any of the questions that have been asked?

Someone told me in another post what the million dollar question was when they were there and what the categories seem to be. That got me thinking that this might make an interesting thread. Is this an okay thing to post?

This kind of seems like cheating to me. . . Although I am not sure, I think that the questions do change.

I guess I figured they would have the questions not repeat, or at least not for a long time. Maybe someone knows if they do?

It's not cheating. They aren't stupid enough to reuse questions. What if you went back a year later and won because you remembered the question from last time?

Plus, when I had to sign the paper afterwards, they never said anything about not repeating the questions.

I was 15 when I was on it, and I got some really easy questions and some that I had completely NO CLUE. I won on the fastest finger with a question about presidents ("put these presidents in order in which they served..") Some more are..

"Which of these animals does not have wings?
a) fly
b)flea
c) something
d) something else"

(I had to use my phone a complete stranger on the next one.. I hadn't taken chemistry yet and was at a disadvantage:)
"What does "Hg" stand for on the periodic table?"
a) Manganese
b) Mercury
c) Sodium
d) Magnesium

Haha, this was over a year ago and the memory is a little faded. I do (of course) remember the one I messed up on:

"In Febuary 2002, Queen Elizabeth knighted which American politician?
a) colin powel
b) george bush
c) rudolph guiliani
d) jimmy carter"

I guessed D but was wrong =( Good old Rudy got knighted! Who knew!

Good luck! If I can win 64,000 without making it through junior year yet, i'm sure you have a good chance ;)

They definetly change the questions - I have made it to the Hot Seat 4 times (and have attended WWTBAM many more times) and I don't ever recall hearing the same question. There could be some repetition; I've just never seen it.

They do reuse the questions...except for the 1,000,000 point questions. Those are retired whether the contestant gets them right or wrong. The base of questions is so large however, that the chance of anyone getting a repeat question...or even hearing a question repeated is small.

There is some Disney trivia, but it is usually within the first five questions and very easy. Probably playing along with the real Millionaire game on TV is as good a way to "brush up" as any for the MGM version.

I've made it to the 500,000 point question twice...and missed it both times! I didn't know the atomic number of cesium was 55...but you can bet I do now! :rotfl2:

I don't remember what the other question was, actually...I think it might have been one about a golf tournament played in the 1800's...sigh...those last five questions can be really hard.

My brother was in the hot seat earlier this summer. Some of his questions:

$16000 question:
Don McLean's song "American Pie" is a tribute to what person:
A) Elvis Presley
B) Jerry Lee Lewis
C) Buddy Holly
D) John F. Kennedy

$64,000 question he got:
What does the British store Hamleys sell?
A) Toys
B) Women's Clothing
C) Sporting Goods
D) Groceries

$125,000 question that stumped my 16-year old brother when he was in the chair:

What is a philter?
A) a magic gnome
B) a magic potion
C) a magic spell
D) a magic forest

The answers by the way:
American Pie = Buddy Holly
Hamleys = Toys
Philter = magic potion

this is s new addition to my last WDW trip. do you get anything for scoring highly, other a nice smug feeling.......

You get a collectible "point" pin for each question you answer correctly, providing you get to a 'level or stop before answering wrong.
If you reach the 1,000 point level, you get five pins, a lanyard and a WWTBAM-PI! baseball hat.
At the 32,000 point level, you get five more pins and a polo shirt.
At 1,000,000 points you get (I think, never actually having gotten there myself :)) a leather & wool jacket and a Disney cruise.

At the million point win, you get the 15 pin set. The 1,000,000 pin is numbered with whatever #winner you were, lanyard, a mediallion/paper weight that say "1,000,000 point winner", the bomber jacket, and the three night cruise for 4 including airfare. Also from the lower levels the hat and the polo shirt. You also get to pay taxes on your prizes and I'll have to do that next year. OUCH

My million pt question was, the author AB Guthrie, what does the AB stand for. I guessed right. It was Alfred Burnam. I have heard repeat questions before.

Hightown,

Congrats and my (baseball) hats are off to you (all 10 of them...sigh). How many times in the hot seat before you won the cruise?...and if you tell me "one", I'll just shoot myself now and get it over with lol.

I have only met one other cruise winner (also a woman). We were standing in line together. Such a nice lady! I have hopes of being able to do it too, but only because I watched a man get to the the million point question with 14 questions I was able to answer. Neither he nor I knew the answer to the 1,000,000 point question, but he guessed wrong :badpc:...and I happened to guess right. I kept thinking, "why couldn't that series of questions have been asked when I was in the hot seat?" :rotfl:

It's still my most favorite thing to do at MGM and I meet the nicest people. I always share my tips...and three times, random people (first timers) I sat with actually got in the hot seat...one was an 11 year old! I don't know which is more exciting, actually getting in the hot seat or sharing in the excitement of someone who has never been! It truly is "never the same show twice"...one time they actually had to send for a translator when a Japanese gentleman made it in on the fastest finger. That was really interesting...Disney tries to have all bases covered...makes a person wonder if they even have someone on hand to translate in Tagalog lol!

Well, wish me luck...I'll be at MGM two weeks from tomorrow!
