Who takes their laptop with them?

Yes its $9.95 for a 24 hour period, some people try get 2 days out of 1 payment. Last month it cost us $129.35 for the 16 nights we were there.

You should look into getting a cheap/2nd hand mifi and an AT&T sim card.

$125 would get you 2.5GB of downloads and it would be completely mobile as well. Probably faster than Disney too given some of the posts recently.

Depends if you do things like watching iplayer etc in which case unlimited wifi is probably better.

I like my internet, but not that much, tbh the only possible way I'd do it is if I was in a villa, that might be a bit different, but I hardly feel the urge to log online when I have Mickey Mouse & Co running around outside.

Possibly a relaxing holiday I might consider, but then again probably not.

I wish I had a choice but unfortunatly we don't have jobs were we can just disappear for 2 weeks.

Might be nice but we are so used to it now it doesn't bother us - it's part of life.

As I stated in my post we don't take the laptops just for internet. It is primarily for backing up the photo's and videos that would totally ruin the holiday if we lost them for whatever reason.

We take a netbook and store it away every night in the safe in SSR. Managed to get it in there along with all our paperwork! I use it mainly for backing up photos and for check-in for coming home.

Will be taking my laptop to backup photos - would be devastated if anything happened to my camera and I lost them. Won't bother with the internet at all - will be lovely to be disconnected from the world for a week and just live Disney :yay:

We're staying at ASMovies - does anyone know if a netbook will fit in their safe? If not I'll find somewhere to hide it.

My DH came up with a good question - what would I do if my camera broke? :scared1: Does anywhere in Disney sell cameras??? DH knows how precious photos are to me and what grief he'd have to live with if I didn't have a camera!! :rotfl:

Normally don't take anything with us but this year I was going to take one of the girls netbooks. Just picked up a couple of HP Touchpads for next to nowt from the HP staff shop so one of those is going too.

I have a netbook that I take with me. Don't use the internet much but its handy for finding dining options and loading up photos.
After being stuck (in London) for 3 days on the way home because of snow I wouldn't travel without one ever again.
I just leave mine out on the table at our resort and usually have free wifi with DVC.

On a practical level, from a travel perspective, make sure that your laptop/netbook is sufficiently charged when you to to the airport - both ways! In the event that you are number xyz for a spot security check you may be asked to turn it on.

we take two laptops..
we just put them back in our computer bags whenever we leave the room...
the bags are together with the rest of our luggage in the corner of the room or in the closet (depending on which resort we're in)..
as for internet connection - we rented local iphones this time...with unlimited data...so we used the iphones as tethers for the computer...
didn't have to pay disney a penny..woo hoo!!!

We're thinking of getting a netbook to take with us for next year (and just for in general when we travel), so if anyone has any recommendations they would be greatly appreciated :)
