Who stays in a Studio???

We have stayed in a Studio on several occasions...2 adults and 2 kids. While we do prefer the 1BR we have found that the studio is a nice alternative if we want to save points.

DH and I will stay in a studio because most of our upcoming trips are for weekends or long weekends. When we have the option of going during the week, we'll book a 1 bedroom.

We stay in the studio on some of our visits, two adults in the studio is not bad! This also leaves us more points to use for other visits! We treat ourselves and family members, to the one or two bedroom units once a year though!

Hello: Just curious. Who stays in a studio? How many adults and or children?
hmm... worded kind of like you think it's absurd to stay in a studio? :p

anyway, yes... i'll admit it.
we are "studio trash".
just 2 adults planning to conserve on points.

(btw, the "studio trash" reference is just a funny/ridiculous term i heard mentioned on this site before. it may have even been ported over from a different message board, where there was some kind of thread bashing people who stay only in studios  )

we'll stay in a studio for short trips only (3 nights or less), particularily if it's a weekend (points less). Anything over 3 nights it's a 1 or 2 bedroom all the way.

DH and I (there are just the 2 of us) used to stay in a studio regularly. Then came that fateful time when I said, "let's splurge this trip and see what a 1 bedroom is like." Now, DH is the perfect example of "once you try a 1 BR, you'll never go back" and the studios are only for my solo trips. To me, studios are perfect for one (thought they were OK for 2, but DH disagrees)

We usually have 2 fairly long trips per year (normally 10 - 12 days each). We alternate, 1 stay in a Studio then 1 stay in a 1 bedroom. Normally 2 adults per trip, occasionally 3...no children.

Well, as new owners at SSR, we haven't stayed yet. We're planning on trying a studio next May-June and a 1BR in the fall. Since we are just two empty-nesters, we figure on alternating - if we're there during long-hours season (more time at parks) we'll be happy with a studio. At least that's the plan - once we hit a 1BR, who knows!

When it is just my DH and myself, we always stay in a studio. I don't cook in the room and, while the washer/dryer would be convenient, it is not a necessity for us. We have a 13 night trip coming up in Feb/Mar, 10 nights at VWL and 3 nights at OKW, and I might long for the washer/dryer during that stay. When we bring our family we stay in a 2 bedroom.

We don't spend very much time in our room. Most of our time is spent in the parks, shopping and dining out. Maybe some day we will try a 1 bedroom and not want to return to a studio. But using a studio allows us more trips without having to worry about weekend points.

We have not stayed in a studio yet, but I believe that they are the first to book to capacity during the busy DVC seasons...maybe the GV's are first, but I think the studios go quickly too!

So in answer to the question, I think LOTS of people book studios.

DW and I have discussed doing that when we're empty-nested. But it will be difficult to give up the in-room washer/dryer (our favorite aspect of the 1BR).

Guess we're studio trash, too! LOL
By us staying in studios we ahve really, really incresed our trips thsi coming year -
2 nights at Christmas
4 for Braves spring training
5 for summer
4 for summer again, but with 2 studios
Plus, we ahve soem leftover to bank!
When I asked my mom if she wanted to go with a two bedroom instead for next summer she told me she thought it was a waste of my points. We don't cook on vacaction and the small kitcheneete works fien for us for quick breakfasts and snacks.
So I got us 2 studios for that trip.
Right now in a studio usually it will be me and my hubby and two littel girls, 5 1/2 and 2 1/2. I'm sure as times goes by we'll ahve to upgrade to a larger room so the girls can have their own space, but for right now we'll enjoy streching our points and having more family time!

I was one who also thought a studio for 2 was perfect. Until we got upgraded last May to a 1 BR at BWV. I venture to say we will not be staying in a studio again. Mind you I don't like like wasting points but those 1 BR are wonderful, too hard to give up. We feel as though we are on a special vacation when we are in the room.

We'll be taking our first trip home to BCV studio in February - but plan on staying in the studios for the majority of our trips in the future. There's just two of us, so we don't need the extra space - would rather have the extra points = extra days to enjoy our favorite place on earth!!

We prefer the 1 bedroom, but if it means an extra trip in a studio or no trip, we stay in a studio. We are 2 adults and a 3 year old.

So, yes we stay in studios :teeth:

One more for studio!! It's just DF and I so it's plenty for us. But in January we are staying in a onebedroom at OKW. I can see it now..........we'll need more points because I won't want to go back to a studio.

When we have the gang along we stay at our OKW home in a 2 BR. When it's just DW and me, we stay at our BCV home in a studio. We tried an OKW 1 BR for just the 2 of us and it felt empty. I guess after all the years of staying in a 2 BR at OKW with the kids it just felt strange without them. We added on at BCV, we like the sofa to sit on instead of the edge of the bed. After 30 + WDW trips, we don't spend all day and night in the parks. Been there, done that, not any more.

I haven't used my DVC yet (SSR) but the main reason I bought was because I hated being in one room at the Contemporary with my kids. I know that sounds bad but by the end of the day I need to shut the door. I don't think we will ever use a studio until my boys are out of the house. Since they are 5 it will be along time (good thing SSR has 50 years:D ).

When it's just DH and me, we usually always stay in a studio to conserve points. We go to the grocery store to buy drinks and snacks plus some sandwich stuff, then we also eat out a few times too. We are out and about so much, that a studio is all we need.

On one trip with two of the grandkids, we stayed in a studio on our first night, which was a Saturday (to save points), then switched to a 1BR for the remaining 7 nights.

Just bought at SSR so we haven't stayed yet, but plan on staying Christmas week 2004 till New Year's day. So the studio it is 'cause we have 200 points. We will probably do breakfast in the room...muffins or something like that...And coffee. We always eat in the parks. Grown kids, no need for the W/D...Laundry and cleaning a kitchen on my vacation!!! hahahahaha

I guess I'm thrilled to be "studio trash".
