Wondering how full were the mods for Free Dining 2008...looks like we will probably upgrade to mod (have POP booked right now) Love POFQ, but would like to try another mod for a change. Really want elevators -- I know CBR does not have them - do all areas of CSR have elevators? Also wondering if those resorts are empty enough during early September free dining that we'd likely get a ground floor room if we asked for it (bad knees & stairs just don't make a good vacation!)

we stayed at CBR and loved it. Our room was very close to the bust stop and about a 5 minute walk to the food court. One of my favorite memories is swinging in a hammock on the beach watching DD play on the playground at the resort. It is a very peaceful place!

I stayed at POFQ last year for free dining. The resort seemed to be very busy. Full buses and food court. Although never had a problem at the resort very quiet. As for CSR there is usually a big conference the second week of Sept which is when I went so I could not get a ressie. CSR is my fave and I was really disappointed. I'm pretty sure there are elevators in every building. I stayed in Cabanas my last trip and they are only 2 stories anyways. My last trip at POP I asked for a ground room also (booked preferred) (also knee injury) and they would not accomondare me. I know it is just a request so I just let it go but lets just say I am not a fan of POP I'd take CSR anyday.:goodvibes

oh now, that's no help at all - one vote for each mod. I should have known :lmao: I'll have to decide this one for myself...maybe I'll just go in alphabetical order until I've tried all four;)

I've stayed at all the mods and we like Pofq for the size and the boat to DTD. But CSR is now our favorite with the new updated rooms- flat screen tv and queen size beds. Also the buses were the best I've had at any mod or value. We never waited long at all and the distance from the CSR bus stops to the park entrances were great. They have a great main pool too.

We have stayed at CSR the last couple of free dinings and have it booked for this September. We were there September 1 - 9 this past free dining (2008) and it was NOT crowded at all. A convention came in towards the end of our trip (that Sunday, the 7th) and the resort was still not full from what I could tell. Yes, there are elevators in all of the CSR buildings.

We booked the 2008 free dining bounceback during free dining 2007. We were there 8/30-9/6 and did not think it was very crowded. Well, it was more crowded when we checked in on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, but it had been raining and the lobby area was fairly crowded, but that was the most crowded we saw it. It thinned out a lot Labor Day Monday and following. We ate at Pepper Market one morning and it was mostly empty. I don't recall seeing any conventions going on while we were there. The only time the buses were crowded was leaving the parks at closing time.

I've stayed at all four moderates. The only time we've stayed at one during free dining was last Fall and we were at PORS. The resort was great and did not seem too crowded. We were in building 18 (great location, by the way) so used the main bus stop. Also we just walked up to Boatwrights one morning (no ADR) and were seated immediately. I understand Boatwrights is no longer serving breakfast though. We loved the boat to DTD and how peacefull the resort was.

I've stayed at POFQ in May and Dec and it is by far my favorite mod. In fact I have another trip booked at POFQ for May 9th-16th and can't wait. I love how small the resort is, the boat to DTD, and how friendly the CMs are.

I've only stayed at CSR once (Dec 05?). The resort was beautiful and probably closest to a deluxe than the other three mods. Transportation and food court was also the best out of all the mods. We did not have a good trip though. My mom and I almost got ran over by one of those golf cart thingys (had to literally dive off the sidewalk, falling to our knees), the CMs there were the least friendly of any WDW we've ever been to, and we had a run in the some very loud, drunk conventioneers who were in the quiet pool every night. They were hitting on and really scared a couple of young 20 y/o ladies. Security had to be called after one of the drunks followed them back to their room. Saying all of that, I have decided to give CSR another chance and recently booked another trip there for Dec 12th-20th. The new room decor and queen size beds look really nice.

I've also stayed at CBR and that's probably the only resort I'd never stay at again. The room was filthy when I checked in, housekeeping just missed my room several days and I'd return at night to find my bed still unmade, the bus system was really bad, as was the food court. The final straw was when I returned late one night to find housekeeping had propped my door open with a trash can and then forgot about it. My room had been left open all day and evening. I was traveling solo and was scared to death when I returned to find it, so called security to go in with me to check everything out. They just blew it off and didn't seem to understand why I was upset.:headache:

We have been for the last two years during free dining. This last year, we stayed at POR in the Alligator Bayou section. The resort was pretty and peaceful. We really enjoyed the boat ride to DTD.

However, I will say that the main pool was very crowded, as was the food court during breakfast times. Usually you had to wait for a seat! Check-in and check-out was also very crowded. We waited for at least one hour!

Overall, I would stay here again, but when we stayed at POP the year before, I do not remember it being as crowded or hectic, and the CM's were nicer there!

Happy planning!:yay:
