Who signed their contract(s) now that 9/12 is less than 10 days away?

Just be aware that if you join DVC, it WILL make you go to Disney more often than you would without it, and you will probably then want annual passes.

So, while you are saving on your accommodations compared to booking with cash, you will likely be spending more in the long term on Disney vacations than you would have had you not joined DVC.

Knowing all this, I have no regrets about joining DVC, and in fact just bought more points (yet another expense that is tough to avoid!). For me it's just that many more awesome family trips and great memories.

Something to consider is the option to use your points at Aulani. This is a fantastic option that would become available to you and really makes a Hawaiian vacation much more in reach than it would otherwise.

I truly believe we will see elevated RIV incentives because VGF needs to cool off. Maybe that should be a new option... who will rescind VGF and buy RIV instead based on incentives?

Can we do a poll on who will choose RIV with incentives over waiting for Poly2? Sounds like a number of us are fighting the temptation of VGF with incentives. If RIV follows, who caves and who holds firm until Poly2.

Because the lack of DL DVC options before VDH opening, I assumed they started with aggressive pricing. Get those people who want it no matter what the cost. From there they’d start offering better incentives when the initial surge of demand dips.

This is my thought as well. DLH sales slowed significantly last month. If we see the same momentum DVD may throw out more incentives. It stinks for the initial purchasers, but the same thing happened with VGF. I believe this could also happen with Poly tower. Price it decently and sell to those knocking down the door. DVD can adjust prices accordingly based on sales.

This is me. I need it to be Sept 12th already so the temptation stops! No Riv for me so I know I'll then be waiting for Poly 2. The idea of it being restricted stinks but I'm going with the straight up "Buy where you want to stay" strategy. GFV is such a great deal but I'm not going to treat DVC how I treat my Costco purchases...just buy something I don't need or want because it's on sale.

Not there's anything wrong with GFVs! But you know...

Unfortunately thats one of the things they’re not flexible on is that difference in current vs new member pricing but if you got a referral to save you 500 dollars it probably tips in your favor.

I was going to mention Dream it Forward as well. Since @Tobuyornotbuy spoke with a guide on a cruise I assumed that was $500 left on the table.

We definitely can make a new poll/thread! It will also be interesting to see if association affects people? If the tower is added to PVB it's similar to VGF because we would have another unrestricted resort actively on sale vs RIV. Not sure if that affects people more than contract duration? Although I think based on VGF and RIV sales over the past year it ultimately comes down to the final dollar amount! So few people go in educated about DVC and purchase whatever is being pushed by guides and incentives.

No- I have done research- I always like to ask the dvc members I see - would you do it again so I have met a few dvc folks and I was able to reference an individual who in person provided a lot of great feedback - and the guide in the ship was more than helpful in suggestions of people to use- they guide was also personable and not pushy which was a big plus…..

We are going to hold off for now. We are pleased with the number of points we have for now, but know we need more points soon. We are going to use banking and borrowing to get a better sense of what that number is going to be for us, and add on if and when we need to, probably smallish contracts.

For us it came down to more $$s (and time off which is limited) for cruising and seeing family from out of town...

Waiting to clear up some CC balances and apply for Wells Fargo Card (probably tomorrow) before doing downpayment and contract to purchase VGF.
Will be Thursday or Friday before we get the contract and we'll sign later this month.

Did downpayment today on 150+50. We'll sign 150 or both in a week or 2. For now, trying to get used to 2 UY in the website.
