Who sews? where can I give away extra material

So, friends bought a mansion and took down these fabulous custom made brocade drapes.


She was throwing them away and I thought surely someone could use this material to make something. Any ideas on how I can give it away (I don't even care about selling it, will give it away, just pay for shipping)? I tried craigslist but I'm in a pretty rural area and didn't get any interest.

What about even on this board, is this where I would post material for free?

See if you can get info on the local girl scout or 4H groups- either of them may want to use it. Otherwise if you can find a center for special needs they normally will take arts and crafts supplies for their projects. You could also try the local elementary school art teacher.

Also look for a school with a theatre dept, they might be interested in them for sets.
