I want to give out this tip here for anyone who is going to stay at SSR and requesting room location. SSR buildings do have numbers. And this is how to tell what they are.

During my stay in the Grandstand area my building number was 85 and I strongly suspected that even though there was no number in sight. Reason being is that the rooms that were in my building were room numbers 8501-8836. The first two digits of the first room number is the building number at SSR. Thus the building beside us had room numbers of 8101-8436, then the building number would be 81. Here is my email proving what I thought was the case all along. Pretty good for a DVC rookie I think. Hi, I think I remember reading one of your other posts that you were just there? Just out of curiosity because we will be there for 6 nights in July as part of a split stay, did you request that building by number? The reason I ask is because we have standard booked but we like it near the Paddock section so I would like a building in close proximity to the Paddock pool. If you requested that building specifically then maybe we will try to request a specific building near paddock pool and see what happens? Thanks for the info

The buildings are numbered and it is not what you think. Check out this site. Most don’t even know that they do have numbers.

Can I ask- did you make the request through member services, online check-in, fax, or some combination? I'm wondering if it's worth it to call MS because my only requests are building 7 (which I guess would be building 41 as the rooms are 4101-4436?) and on the top floor. Location is actually more important than any other factor (I will take any floor in that building, don't care what the view is, don't care how close to an elevator etc.).

Disney IT also does things like put specific POFQ room sections as possible choices under OKW room requests in online checkin.

Disney IT is bananas.
Very true, but I'm betting I'm right on this one. If not then, it is extremely coincidental.

Try Google earth and hovering the mouse pointer over the buildings -works for OKW, not sure about here.

Someone said it did, but I will try. I know Touring Plans has them numbered different. But I doubt very seriously that both the examples above that I posted are coincidence. Maybe at one time they were numbered different, but I think I am right on this one. Just hoping to help someone else who has a trip planned to SSR with which building the want to request.

DVC could make it easy and post building numbers for the buildings. That way you could easily request a building.

We were in the Grandstand in April and our building number was 80-something, definitely not 15 as shown on the map.

Correct. At one point, those numbers were probably the correct numbers for the SSR buildings, but that is no longer the case. I am just hoping that in the very short amount of time that I was a DVC owner, and a little bit of a "super sleuth" that I have brought attention to the correct numbers for each building. And I hope it will help other guest plan their visits to SSR. I knew which building I wanted at SSR, but didn't know the number of it. And I was really shocked that I got it.
