Friday night my niece, her DH, DS/7 and DD/2 were camping out. They had friends over and the kids were having a great time roasting marshmallows. One of the little girls caught her marshmallow on fire and turned to show her mom. When she did, Austin(nieces son) was walking up behind her. Her flaming marshmallow, still on the stick, caught Austin in the eye. His bottom lashes were burned off, all around the bottom and side of his eye has 1st degree burns and the stick cut his cornea. They rushed him to the ER and fortunately saw one of the best eye doctors in our area. The doctor also met them at his office on Saturday for a re-check. He said Austin's eye is healing fine and is pretty sure everything is going to be OK. Austin is very fortunate. The injury could have been much worse. The only thing is, I don't think he wants to roast marshmallows again for a while.
SO, who said marshmallows weren't dangerous?!?!?!?!?
