Many moons ago, Meg Ryan played Betsy, wife of ??????, on As the World Turns..... What was his name on the show? I know his RL name is Frank Runyeon. He's performing at my church tonight (Gospel of Mark) & we get to meet him at social hour after the performance. I just can't remember his character name! Anyone remember? Ahhh...those eyes of his.... :faint:

Betsy and Steve Andropolous. I remember, I used to watch then.

Thank you Missy & Lady....now, does anyone remember what time frame that was? I can't remember if that was in the late 80's or early 90's?

I'm a little embarrassed to admit, but I actually have the "As the World Turns...The Complete Family Scrapbook, Special 40th Anniversary Edition" ::yes:: (cheap, from The Christmas Tree Shops :) ), and it gives the dates of 1980 - 1986 that Frank Runyeon played Steve Andropoulos.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Holy Moly! 1980 to 1986!!! I just can't believe it was that long ago! So then when was Meg Ryan on it? I do remember when Meg left & another "Betsy" came on board & while she was good, I really missed the "old Betsy!" Didn't Meg Ryan leave ATWT to finish her college education because she didn't know which direction her life would take?

Well, I'm anxious to see Frank Runyeon this evening. I wonder if he looks much different after 20+ years?

He was at my daughters middle school in the Fall. When she came home with the flyer and told me some guy was at school today, I glanced at the paper and said "That's Frank who was married to Betsy on ATWT"! She just gave me the 12 year old Duh look like I didn't know what I was talking about. His picture still looks good though!

Wow this thread brought back very OLD memories. I used to look forward to watching them every summer. That has been a long time ago.

Me too! Stupid Donna Carr was my babysitter and wouldn't let us in the house to watch. Then she had her friends come over and smoke in our house on the new furniture and burned a hole in the couch. My sister got blamed! She was the baby sitter the next summer, and only let us in to watch ATWT and Guiding Light!

Those were definitely the "good ol' days". I loved ATWT back then.

Wasn't ....oh, I am having a brain block here....Mark Green from ER.....yes Anthony Edwards on it a long time ago also?

Really??? I remember Julianne Moore - she played the twins. Am I right or is my memory fading with age?

I think you are right, can't remember the character name but wasn't she Bob's daughter, and it turned out it was a Twin they didn't know was alive? (So what else is new with a soap LOL).

Here's how pathetic I am, lol, I have a videotape of Betsy and Steve's wedding. It occured in 1984. Also on my videotape is Joanie and Chachi's wedding. I absolutely loved Betsy and Steve's wedding song, "Nobody loves me like you do" and I really wanted it for my wedding 2 yrs later but we had all religious music in our ceremony. I don't think Meg left ATWT to return to college. I think she went directly to Hollywood and movies. I think Innerspace and Top Gun were some of her earliest movies.

Also from ATWT, Marissa Tomei and Whitney Houston. Also in early 80's.
