I look like such a gross jerk I never buy them. Although I did one year when dd3 first rode it however I have pictures of people I do not know in the pic and everyone ask who is that.
We bought one the last tie we were there. We were in the first two rows and everyone was looking straight ahead. It was a great photo, one that makes me smile everytime I look at it.
We always buy one. Our kids are all teens and young adults and no one wants to carry a camera anymore. We just try to see how silly we can make them. It is great fun to look back at them!
We have one from our first trip - it's quite a good picture because there are 9 of us in the log and no others guests - just our family. It was the one photo were were able to get with us our family in it. I look terrified
We hadn't bought one before, but we did the last time. There were 6 of us in the log and the last two people in the log who weren't with us don't really show up well. Splash was one of the few rides that the family that went with us liked, so we bought the picture. I bought my friend one of the Splash Mountain frames for her birthday and put the picture in it. The frame covers the last two people, so it worked out well for us!!
Hi. My mom bought the picture the first time I was tall enough to ride Splah Mtn. I had my hands up in the air, but looked a little unsure at the same time. My mom says it captured the moment perfectly!!
Every year we buy a new picture. Out first year at Disney we bought Splash. There are 2 teenagers in the boat with us. They look like they are having a blast! Recently we bought RnR. We also have The Hulk for IoI. (I know - not Disney, but still fun!)
since splash is always the first ride we do on the first day, we've made it our family tradition to buy it. same thing for the splash mountain picture frame.
some people go for the pretty picture in front of the castle, we go for the picture where everyone looks awful but where we're all having fun.
My mom bought one the one time we all went together. (BFs and all) We were the only ones in the log so it was great. She liked it so much that when DH and I were on our honeymoon we brought her back the Splash Mountain frame to display it in. It is still sitting on top of her TV. She can't wait to get another pic of us all at WDW again, now with grandkids!
i bought on last year for the first time!!! my dd7 and i were in the front row and the rest of the boat was empty since we rode first thing in the am. we were both screaming--it was so funny i couldn't resist. i wish you could just buy a single 4x6 or 5x7 but the cheapest was a 8x10. oh well!!!
We usually get one. My favorite is the last one DH and I took while we were at the VMCP. We both have on our ponchos.. it was pitch black, and we were the only people on the ride, so we gave each other a big smooch when the picture was taken.. I didn't know it at the time, but DH was also giving a "thumbs up" to the camera
Normally I would not buy them because I look like a drowned rat, but I did
when I took my DGD in Dec of 04. The night we did MVMCP we went on Splash Mountain 3 or 4 times in a row; getting closer to the front each time.(Not my idea) The last time we went on it we were right in the front and though I did look like a drowned rat my 8 year old DGD had the biggest smile on her face and her arms straight up in the air. It was such a wonderful moment for her I just had to buy the picture.
I have gotten two so far. The first time was from a MVMCP and it was just my older brother, myself and my daughter alone in the log. It was cold and we are in winter coats. It looks somehow... wrong. Then this past November we went to Disneyland and got a log just me, my husband, and the two kids. I was never one to buy these ride photos, but it was cool to have the log to ourselves. The Disneyland photo is so cool because we all look like we are having the time of our lives.
We have 2 now. The first year was at CM and the 2nd was last year with splash mountain. We all are like screaming and getting wet and my face is awful looking but it is one we cherish because we all love the ride. The first time we went down, the two kids behind us stood up and they wouldn't let us see the picture.
