This is a tricky poll to put together but I'll give it a stab. The first choice will be for those who do not pool hop and do not care at all about the pool hopping option regardless of where they stay. The other options are specific to when staying at a certain resort. You can choose which resort to use for your answer -- your home resort or the resort where you stay most often. :)

Not sure what kind of results we'll get --

Bumping for more input.

I pool hop everytime I'm there. However, you didn't give me the option for that, only individual stays. So I picked the BW!

Wouldn't matter where I stayed ( including BCV) I'm likely to try out another hotel for the afternoon, just for a change of scenery.

We have only had one DVC trip and enjoyed pool hopping greatly. I hope it does not get taken away from us.

Pluto you're right. "Pool hop every time no matter which DVC resort we are staying at" would have been a terrific option to add. I just didn't think of it! Darn, you can't go back and edit polls once they're posted. :(

Pam, don't beat yourself up on missing something. I forget something every time too.

Besides, as long as people register a vote in one of the resorts, it will at least show whether they have an interest in PH or not.

I would never have even dreamed of such a thing until I met all of you. And to think that I was irritated that we were so far from a pool at OKW that we had to drive to it. I like for the pool to be out my door and close by. Feels much more relaxing to me that way.

I enjoy the option of pool hopping. I have little ones (dh included) who love the Boardwalk and Beach Club pools.

We recently stayed at Fort Wilderness and did not care for any of the pools, so we went to OKW and BWV pools instead.

I love the option, because not all Disney pools are designed equally. :)

I'm one of the few who responded the perk could be removed and it wouldn't phase me. We are happy with the resort pools. Like the quiet pools....

Pool hopping is one of the pleasures we enjoy each trip now that we no longer commando tour the parks and spend more leisure time.

We definitely pool hop to SAB when staying at BWV. Not because we are looking for action, we usually sit way up on the deck above the snack shop. But I'm really not fond of the pool at BWV. As a matter of fact, we always put one of our request for a room as "no view of Luna Park pool area". The "quiet" pool at BWV is very nice and we go there sometimes too. We really enjoy the pools at OKW. My idea of a nice swim is usually a good book in the sun and a drink on the table. And no I am not an older person. Definitely under 40. And my teenage girls enjoy the pools at OKW too. Besides pool hopping is way too big of a hassle from OKW.

We're looking forward to our 6th trip with kids to WDW, but my first as DVC member at VWL, so we haven't tried the pool hopping yet. I'm planning on giving it a try this time, but am wondering how much of a hassle it is with 3 children, ages 9, 5, and 4. We'll be at VWL for 2 weeks, and I would love to try out the pool at the Poly since my kids are so facinated by volcanoes!! and of course they loved SAB during our stay there last year. Any tips from ones with small kids on how to make the pool hop hassle-free?

Thanks!!

107 days and counting:D :D

My DH and I, personally, have never "pool-hopped," and probably never will. Growing up in Central Florida with a pool in our backyard - it's just not appealing to us.

But, that being said, I'd hate to see the perk taken away for the sake of so many who DO enjoy it, and also for our future guests that might enjoy it, as well.

We've only used a pool at WDW once or twice - and that was at OKW both times. We prefer the quiet pools...

With all the talk about disatisfaction with the OKW pools, it looks to me like BWV has the least desirable pool since they are the ones most likely to pool hop.

I prefer to call it "Resort Hopping". We have been members since 1992, so our commando park touring days are OVER! We often take an afternoon to just go hang out at another resort and have lunch, take a swim and check out the other amenities. We have pool hopped everywhere except Fort Wilderness & the Grand Floridian (our least favorite resort). We love the environment and food court at Coronado, so we will probably head on over there again on our trip in a couple of weeks. We have enjoyed the ALL Star pools and Food Courts, and like to drop by the Contemporary after a hot MK morning. I NEVER pool hop to another DVC resort, because I have the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of those resorts when I stay there. We also NEVER pool hop to a busy pool, so have little to no effect on pool capacity. I really hope they never eliminate pool hopping as a privilege, and I hope that DVC members continue to be responsible and considerate when they are pool hopping! Those of us from frozen NH want to be able to enjoy all the pools during the seasons that all the southerners are shivering and wearing their sweaters!

I have never pool hopped at WDW. I would like to and actually plan on it during our trip this summer. I hope that it continues to be an option.:smooth:

I said "occassionally" at BWV because DH and I never pool hop - we love the quiet pool area at BWV, but our teenagerrs always pool hop - just to see what's different.

I don't get it...the poll shows 36% of hoppers or those interested in hopping do so when staying at OKW, and the same 36% at BWV.

If there is an interest I think I would make the poll over as follows-

We don't care to hop no matter where we stay
We like to hop no matter where we stay.
We mostly hop if we stay at:
...OKW
...BWV
...VWL

but this was Pam's idea and I don't want to make a competing poll...it's always easier working out the kinks after somebody else does it first.
