I'm about to book a Disney Cruise :sail: for Oct 09, and would much rather be booking for Oct 08 (our calendar is already filled up with a few DVC trips this year).

How will I ever be able to wait 15 mo to go on a Disney Cruise? The anticipation is going to kill me! :hyper:

I'm with you! I also have booked a 09 October Cruise. Booked it about three months ago. Where and which week?

We always have our plans in progress way in advance. We obviously have our Nov/Dec plans all set, we know what we are going to do in April, just waiting for 7 months out to book, and we just discussed what we will do next August. So I guess we have planned 13 months out.

We have had our vacation plans set for at least 15 -18 months at all time. I knew in May we would be at VB in Aug. 09.

I must confess I have plans for 2009, 2010, 2011 and was working this morning on whether I should invite the family for 2013 or 2014 (it's going to have to be 2015, actually.) And I've already started on the packing list for the October 2008 trip.

;-O

I like to plan really far out and finish all the arrangements early. We're completely squared away for the trip this Dec - it allows me to relax and just enjoy the anticipation for the last few months. Also, lets me focus on thinking about / planning our DLRP trip for next March! :goodvibes

We have some vacations planned for the next 3 years. If you count NYE, then we vacations planned every year.

I'm out to Thanksgiving 09. Though I'm on hold waiting to see if I get an exchange for next summer or will I use the new week I just bought.

Also will be getting 2 banked weeks with my new purchase!

On the books:
Thanksgiving 08-WDW
MLK 4 day weekend 09-WDW
Easter 09-Vero
Summer 09-?
Thanksgiving 09?

I booked DCL vacation for August 2009 back while on the ship in 2006. Of course they did not have anything available, but I dummy booked for 12/07 and then once they came out, I was able to change my reservation. I really wanted to go this August, but couldn't get 2 weeks off in a row, so we are doing WDW only this year. As for 2010, I want to go someplace else..maybe back to Mexico. :confused3 I do however plan on going to Hawaii in 2011-12 if they open DVC there and if they move one of the new ships there.:thumbsup2

Booked yesterday! 7 night Western Caribbean starting Oct 17 '09. At the 11mo mark, I plan to book 3 nights WDW for the 14th, 15th & 16th. We have 2 free annual passes from our original purchase which we are activating this Jan, so I hope to get a few extra days out of them before the cruise. Will possibly go to the Mickey Halloween party if they are holding it one of those nights. We have a 2 & 4 yr old...
My husband travels alot for business, so hoping to book alot of East Coast trips while we have free flights, then we'll vacation out West for a few years (VGC, Hawaii..)

We're already planning a June 2010 vacation! It's going to be a grand gathering, so I'm getting preliminary plans already set, telling people to start saving etc.

I'm all set for 11/08 and 02/09. We take our kids and g'kids every other year so I've started planning the next trip 11/09 ,making sure I've managed points correctly.

We frequently plan things 12 mos out but never had the need to do 15 mos out. We own another ts that allows us to book at our home resort 12 mos out. We always do that whether or not we are staying there or not. We planned our upcoming cruise last Sept., again 12 mos out. I guess that must be our magic number.

I generally plan 2-3 years in advance and have general game plans for 5 years or so. One thing about having multiple times planned and esp if they are reserved, it sure lessons the letdown of finishing one trip if you have another truly in the works already. I planned Aruba Jan 09 a year out and already have a trip planned and partly booked for early 2010 just waiting on the air lines reservation windows to open up and get a second week through RCI. I also have three other weeks planned in between (Orlando off site, DVC Dec, HH summer 09).

We plan some trips 18-24 months out ... and others 2-3 weeks out. Keep focused on the trips you have planned before now and then ... and perhaps add a few more getaways if needed. You'll be fine while waiting. Enjoy!

Agreed - we've done both as well. We're in the process of planning a cruise for summer 2010 so we can book when DCL comes out with the itineraries, and we just got back from a trip that was planned in 10 days. We usually have a general game plan for the next year or two though.

That October 09 cruise is looking great next to my wait!

We've booked our Nov 09 cruise back in April so I feel your pain. It's going to be a long wait until our first Disney cruise, so far we're up to 10 adults 7 kids. I haven't quite decided what we're going to do for 2010 maybe an Alaskan cruise since we'll be a little points poor for that year.

Thank goodness for the last minute DL fixes we throw in throughout the year. We also have a standing reservation each year for a cottage on the Mendocino coast to celebrate our birthdays and anniversary.

We are planning to make our first December trip for the first week end in December 09 :scared1: . That's just 17 months from now. If I can only figure out all of our ADRs by then!:rotfl:

I have already started planning our next WDW vacation which will be in December 2011, our first trip "home" to the BCV.:cool1::yay::cheer2:

I am the planner for our family and usually have things planned out 1-2 years ahead. I honestly think I enjoy the planning and counting it down because it seems to make the trip more enjoyable. I love planning vacations so guess I should have been a travel agent....oh well, my next life! :lmao:
