Who pays rackrate?

I paid rack rate in '95. Since then used Disney Club in 2000, and codes in 2001, 2002, 2003.

Our first trip in 88 was on a Delta package--I'm sure that one was overpriced. We camped for several trips to save money, and then in 99 I paid rack rate at Christmas for Dixie Landings (no discounts available, I asked and asked). Since then every trip has been discounted thanks to the www, and great sites like Deb's and Mary's, and of course, the DIS.

I am finding rack rate more the norm here lately. All of our trips until this year we have gotten some type of discount.

We paid rack rate for All-Stars in April, (Easter week) cause there were just no discounts available.

I will possibly have to pay rack rate for my campsite in December because I won't have an AP, (I'll be using a free 4-day hopper from HiltonHHonors) no longer have Disney Club and see no need to join AAA as we have roadside assistance included in our car warranties. I'm hoping a general code will come out that lowers my campsite rate.

Tried to reply earlier but didn't work, let's hope it works out better this time. We haven't paid rack rate since 1992 when I started reading the Disney Fans BB on Prodigy. Expected to pay rack for two Easter trips, but ended up with upsells, and AAA 1/2 price discount at Swan. (split visit)

I'm starting to think that this may be the first year I'll be paying rack rates. I'm not sure when these boards started but (although my sig says member since 2000), I've been getting help from these boards since 1996 or 1997--I can't remember when the boards started so hopefully my dates mesh. Anyhow, this may be our last trip. As a family we go to WDW about every other year and we want our next trip to be Mexico, Hawaii, or Carribbean--it'll be hard to let go of the Disney trip. Anyhow, in saying that, we want to stay at our fav BC and for 11/29 through 12/6 the rate is around 2250 for a standard view. It's killing me to think that I could pay this for a mediocre room but we love the location and love staying on Disney property. I hope some codes come out for that time period.
